It came out, was apparently one of the best examples of how to do a remake, and then fell directly off the face of the internet. Why did no one care?

Got overshadowed by the RE4 Remake imo

We talked about it enough the first time.

It's a short single-player game that was also not incredibly different from the original. Not much to talk about.

All games have been just like that for a long time now. People can't stop talking about them, and then a month later it vanished.
The only ones in recent memory that have been able to escape that are Smash Ultimate, BotW, and Witcher 3.

Time will tell if TotK and BG3 join that list.

Games have no staying power now.
They suck.
And they're lame!!

It was the first game I played when I got my PS5 back in March.

It was pretty good but nothing groundbreaking.

Also Starfield. That one MAY be big enough to escape the current discourse trend but who knows.

Think about all of the great games that came out this year. Dead Space came out in the beginning of the year. It's old news now lol.

It's a really good game and a great example of how to change things in a remake without altering the original point of the game.

Not the most exciting conversation starter in an age of rehashes.

We did

It was never going to have staying power or lasting appeal. It came out at the beginning of the year and was incredibly polished, focused and well executed. But it was very similar to the original in every way. For modern audiences no DLC, alternate game modes, online, or passes. System Shock Remake fell into the same exact boat. Both games sold well, too. They're just 20-25 hour run-and-done kinda games.

RE4 took the wind out of both their sails and no one talks about that anymore, either. Horror games have a short impact.

Maybe I was in a different space of the internet but I feel like it was at least talked about for weeks before and about a week after release.

What about the Collisto Protocol? Thata not talked about....

It's a 10ish hour survival horror game with minimal replay value. Not much to talk about after the first few weeks outside of it being part of the larger conversation on VRAM management of modern PC games

Not much to say. It was an excellent remake, just weird that they changed Isaac's face.

I think that one was for good reason, lol.

I didn't think it was terrible but it was supremely underwhelming. The DLC didn't really help it either.
