I was just about to say the best thing about Bleach is the OPs and EDs. It's a shame the characters, plot, and fights couldn't live up to those- at least they couldn't at the time I finally quit watching it. Characters eventually become so many and varied you are pretty much guaranteed to get attached to someone. The plot is rarely that exciting but like say JoJo its not really the point, its more about the style, characters and whatever crazy BS abilities the author can think up next. The last arc of the original anime is good plot-wise though. The fights get muuuuuuuch better, especially in the current arc. The animation and pacing are leagues above the old anime, and the source material with a lot of the fights in the manga is better too. This set of 13 episodes should end on a really crazy fight. It depends where you stopped really. I think if you have a rudimentary understanding of the setting and characters you can probably just dive into the new show without watching the other arcs before it. --- I just decided to change this sig. Like I said, hadn't watched a single episode post Soul Society and I jumped right into TYBW no problem. The actual ending of the Arrancar arc was great it just dragged to get there and the fight in the manga felt a little rushed.
