Duel pass is worth it if you can get it to max.

The best use of gems would be to not buy any cosmetic items beyons the free/event/pass.

The bundles (Ash Blossom, Solemn, etc) are nice to get whenever you have the gems, but your deck should come first.

Speaking of deck, the structure deck x3 can be a good way to amass gems while being on the cheap end.

1) Don't try to build multiple decks at once or just pull from packs willy-nilly. The last thing you want is to run out of gems and have several unfinished decks. I would recommend planning out one deck before pulling, then pulling from the selection/secret pack that has the most UR's that the deck needs. To unlock a secret pack to pull from, craft an SR card from it. https://www.masterduelmeta.com/ is a great resource for both deck recipes and info on the secret packs. Selection packs rotate in and out of the shop, and sometimes cards from old selection packs come back in a new secret pack.
2) NEVER EVER EVER PULL DIRECTLY FROM THE MASTER PACK. EVER. The odds are shit, it's not worth it. Focus on pulling from selection/secret packs, dismantle SR/UR cards you don't plan to use, and use the materials you get to craft cards that are only found in the master pack.
3) The only master packs you should ever open are the ones from the store bundles. I would recommend at least getting the Ash Blossom and (since we're heading into Kashtira format) Nibiru bundles right away. The others are solid too, but not as necessary right now.
4) The gold duel pass is absolutely worth it if you can make it to tier 100 by the end of the time. You get back the gems you put in and more.

That should do it. Let me know if there's anything else you want to know.

I almost exclusively pulled from master packs up until a few months ago. Calwings is right.

That being said, I mostly did it so I could find new decks to play but it's really not an efficient method.

Yeah you're better off just like closing your eyes and choosing a selection pack vs pulling randomly from the Master Pack

But as it was already said, buying all the bundles, the duel pass, 3x of a structure deck that might look fun will probably be worth it(Dark Magician's one is funnily probably the best one because of Magician's Soul and Illusion of Chaos, which can go in every deck as essentially a non-tuner lvl 1 Glow Up Bulb, remember that card? Still banned in MD and TCG). For Duel Pass, even if you get to lvl 50, it's worth it cuz the pass is mega long. Also whenever there are events, you'll probably want to play it cuz they're... mostly fun. The last one sucked the hardest but they're not usually that bad. If you get sucked into those events, you'll finish the pass even if you play sparingly like I do atm.

People here know quite a bit of cards, so if you wanted to know something about cards or archetypes, you can always ask.

The rank 4 Xyz Magikey Spirit Vepartu can force you to banish one of your monster that has the same element as any normal or Magikey monster in GY.

Magikey Mortar negates based on normal/Magikey monster element, Magikey Demon destroys.

Tbf you're supposed to use more if you want to cover every element lol (relying on Magikey monsters aren't enough), especially warrior types so you can use RotA (Clavis is a warrior too).

The Power Pro Sisters is so good in it. 2k+ def Lv 4 yeay.

Anything more than 4 normals is too many bricks, and if they're not at 2 copies each, then it makes Painful Decision far less good. Honestly the ratios in general kinda make it very unstable, but this is actually the best build of Magikeys I was able to cook up. I'd get rid of Link Spider probably. I don't actually know what it does for me at all lol.

The thing is that Magikeys still work off the effect monsters as long as they're Magikey monsters. There's a fire, wind, water, dark, light easily accessible, and the only Earth is actually the lvl 8 ritual, which is harder to search and summon, and you also want it on the board. All this combined actually does make it way better to just pitch an Earth type, which can be anything, including Celtic Guardian.

The deck just needs too much help. I wouldn't even know how to make a functioning Magikey without the whole 2 copies stuff. But that's what Pot of Desires is for. The cards you don't want the entirety to be banished are all at 3 copies so it ends up being more consistent than you'd think. You need all your ED so you can't use Pros or any other Pots.

If you don't have Assault Synchron in the gy, you basically summon Chaos Ruler, mill 5 and hope you hit it. Adding to hand is fine if you haven't used it yet. If you end up tributing Chaos Ruler for Lubellion after you've revived it, you can then actually use Assault Synchron in gy to banish itself for cost and summon Chaos Ruler back onto the field, giving you one more lvl 8 fodder for whatever you'd wish to do. Honestly the first deck I've seen Ass Synch do a lot for. The deck just needs a better lvl 6 synchro, and I'd probably put Stardust Charge over Brionac

They're the same yet very different Neos can bring itself back to the deck to call out any normal Elemental Hero monster
Yubel won't leave unless it's actively destroyed by either you or the opponent
Both of them search spells and traps that have specific names in them but Yubel allows you to set it immediately if you so choose
Neos is immune to battle destruction for the one turn it's special summoned by it's effect, Yubel is constantly immune to battle destruction for as long as it's on the field on top of giving you no damage from battle at all.

It's an archetype of magical girls who pilot magical SD mechs (it's basically just Granbelm, great mecha anime by the way, please go watch it) and it combines both synchro summoning and trap monster synergy, which is a wild combination that I never would have expected. If I'm still playing Master Duel whenever this archetype comes to the game in the future, I'm definitely building it.

Bystials just mess up Sky Strikers (and many other Light/Dark decks) like nobody's business. They may be a necessary evil due to Tearlaments still being powerful, but they're still a blight on the game and should never have been made.

I honestly never try to shuffle my opponent's card back if Regained procs out of 'em unless some things depend on it.

With Diablosis not getting pre-banned before Kashtira arrived, it's absolutely possible for them to lock 9 or even all 10 zones. Not consistently, but still... with no Arise-Heart yet, they'll often just make 2 Shangri-ira instead and that makes for even more zone locking.

You can... in 2 turns or making a jank build. Won't be long til they get to banish off our entire zone when they get Ariseheart and the other Kashtiras like Tear Kash etc

But they can just fuck up combo decks by banishing from ED and stuff. Honestly Kash is too shitty to play against, whether they're good or not. The way they win is possibly worse than Runicks, but modern Runicks is actually fascinating, and you don't have to look further than Josh Schmidt and his Naturia Runick builds to see how cool they can be. Kash doesn't really have cool builds. The archetype does everything it needs and everything they do just sucks

I see a lot of ppl miss Tear after about 5-6 months of Kash dominance. Unknown how long they'll be meta in MD, but it's coming. Only a completely unhit Tear when Tear Kash drops will probably stop a Kash solo t1

Eh you can, but Instant Contact is still a lvl 5, too, and 1 more copy than Fenrir. PUNK Kash rn is barely a thing and would rather all PUNK and 2 Fenrir. I dunno which spell/trap can work with PUNKs to justify Unicorn.

But it does let you summon Baronne early to try to resolve Rising Carp earlier. So does Instant Contact though

Unicorn wouldn't make that much sense, but Fenrir is just too good and stupid not to be used.

Instant Contact is also a brick if drawn more, whereas Fenrir/Unicorn replaces itself (if it's gone from the field anyway).

...Kash Fenrir/Unicorn + Ancient Warriors will be nuts.

I have no idea how 90% of the rules work. Pendulum, Syncro, XYZ and Link weren't a thing back in my day.

Aki has nothing to worry about. Plant Synchro was one of the best decks during one of the 5D's era.

I do kinda miss the days when Black Rose Dragon was a board nuke, and a non-normal summoning lvl 7 combo like The Tricky/Fabled Cerburrel blew people's minds.

Play Master Duel. You need some luck to learn the card game from IRL people. Like you gotta find somebody who can actually teach you.

If you avoid the extra deck stuff, you'll probably quit pretty quick. They're not nearly as complicated as they look. You can get by without learning Pendulums until much later, and just take the L if you don't know how to counter the very few you might encounter. But pre-Synchros YGO wasn't even really much of YGO. There was barely any strategy, and whoever drew the best spells/traps kinda won. Most monsters drew you cards or had really high attack, and that's about it. Modern YGO is so much more complex and more about countering chokepoints in their strategy while also hopefully being able to run your own prepared combo

If you want nostalgia, you can buy 3 of the Dark Magician structure deck and try to figure out how that deck works. It has fusions, which are pretty simple, and it can sometimes summon Xyz. They're simple enough but also still has combos and interactions

If you want to actually learn YGO, Swordsoul is the best. They do literally 1 same move every time, and their boards are about reacting to things in the right way rather than just click buttons til you win. They do synchros, and you'll basically learn how fucking simple extra deck monsters are. They're probably the least of your worries.
