Plan to do the third option but end up doing the first.

That or start runs with every character and never get far in any of them.

Just once.
Maybe more if I REALLY like it.

if i do replay, i will most likely do the same things.

i go in with the mindset of trying to see everything but i just end up playing the same way every time. or with minimal differences.

like, i played through Mass Effect 2 like five times and I played the same character/class/choices every time with the only major deviation being picking Morinth once.

if something hits right, i just end up doing it over and over again.

Depends on the game. You don't mention length. These days I'm much more likely to replay a game that took me ten hours as opposed to one that took me 40.

If I really enjoyed the game, I'd probably play through it twice for sure. But I doubt I'd play every possible character because I'd get bored before I could.

I'm unlikely to play multiple times if there's nothing different in the story or no choices to be made. I played different classes in Mass Effect and enjoyed the gameplay changes, but they weren't the reason I did several playthroughs.

yeah i think length is a major factor here

im probably not going to play an entire story based rpg or long action game again just to try a different build

But if its like Hades, Slay the Spire, or another roguelite and its basically the entire point of the game to try different builds for like 20 min - couple hour runs then yeah Im probably gonna try everything

Play the game once, unless I really super like it and there are multiple storylines/endings with enough differences to be worth it, and also it's not too long.

I'd play through 2-3 times depending on the length, but I wouldn't play all of them and difficulty settings wouldn't affect it at all.

Think more along the lines of Diablo, not Octopath Traveler.

Option 3 then... or a fourth option where I play through with most, not all. I still haven't touched a barbarian but went through every other class in Diablo 3 (Necromancer included) at least once.

For some reason Diablo Barbos dont gel with me, yet I at least had multiple hours of fun on exploding chicken WD, oops all toads WD, frosty Wizard, elemental explosion DH, corpse explosion Necro, oops all charges Monk, oops all charges Crusader....

But then you have a game like Mass Effect where I went through the trilogy twice- first as a Vanguard, second as an Engineer, and I'm considering a third as Infiltrator soonish.

Slight off-topic rant, but it always annoys me in games like Diabloids and Borderlands where you pick one of several very mechanically different characters, that you can't switch characters mid-campaign. They're almost always written in a way that implies a group of heroes are doing everything together anyway (because they're intended for multiplayer), so why not make it that you're playing as a group, and whenever you're in a town, you can switch your active character? Have them all level up at once so you don't need to go back and grind, and only need to go through the crap early levels before you've built a decent skillset once.

So yeah, I normally only play once, and then can't be bothered to go round again with someone else.

If it's just different classes I might play it again at some point in the future but definitely not right away.

I feel like the only series like this where I've played it more than once to experience a different class was Mass Effect

Assuming I have free time on my hands, I'd like to go through the game multiple times, especially if the game has a roleplaying aspect like Mass Effect or Dragon Age. Key word: assuming.

Play the game once, start another run with a different character/class, fail to complete it.
