It actually is potentially still in the works. This is something that happens with some shows that were initially planned as limited series and end up going full. It's a way to grab accolades with a little more ease than they would otherwise.

actors can basically choose how to submit themselves (there may be some criteria, like maybe someone on the show has to be a lead, but Bob Odenkirk would cover that)

she probably figured she had a better chance competing in supporting than in lead

Also yeah the Beef thing is basically just category fraud. The White Lotus did the same thing. Speaking of category fraud Succession does not have four leads, and them all being there definitely blocked some other deserving actors.

And hey, Obi-Wan Kenobi is at least better than Dahmer as far as Limited Series go.

Succession spoilers) well one of the leads definitely feels out of place, but I dont think its Kieran. (brian cox died so early in the season that it almost feels like he should be a guest actor. I think all three siblings make sense as leads, though. Its not just Kendalls show.

i guess with White Lotus its hard because theres a bunch of mostly unconnected storylines. Theres not any one clear lead, or anyone clearly dominating the screentime.

id maybe put Jennifer Coolidge as lead if only because she feels like the Star of the series as the one returning actor, but otherwise I dunno who else to call a lead. Maybe Imperioli?

also I feel strongly that at least Nicholas Braun didnt need to be nominated and would personally sub in Stellan Skarsgard for Andor.

and I would drastically change the comedy stuff because Ted Lasso seems lame and a bunch of other shows are good. These Emmy voters are obviously total jabronis for snubbing Party Down entirely.

Ken Marino should be given 100 awards to make up for being overlooked for this long.

I am so out of the loop on TV these days, I've only seen Succession. That said, I predict a SuccessionSweep. lmao at Cox in lead though, Culkin is a stretch but Cox is absurd. Rooting for Strong regardless.

Yeah I was hoping this year would be a BCS sweep but I fear we're too far removed from when it aired and Succession also gets the "final season" bump... not great!

The Bear being listed as a comedy feels weird to me.

I don't think people are watching it for the humor over the drama.

the lines between comedy and drama are pretty blurred with a lot of shows, its literally just a runtime thing at this point

if youre 30 minutes, youre a comedy

I dont really get the issues with The Bears genre, its a comedy drama. Overall much funnier than a lot of pure comedies. Not really all that different from Ted Lasso (which does hour long episodes) in terms of emphasis.

Sadly, I think Odenkirk is the only BCS nomination with a chance of winning, Succession and The White Lotus are going to clean up everywhere else in Drama.

Also should be noted that Score is Nicholas Britell vs Nicholas Britell with nominations for both Succession and Andor.

People get to learn this fun fact about how fucked the separation is between Comedy and Drama awards today!

Drama = 60 minutes
Comedy = 30 minutes

That's literally how they differentiate these. It's so monumentally stupid.

It's interesting because the Bear spans the 30-60 minute range.

At least its consistent with the golden globes, she won best supporting actress there.

Ted Lasso is all one hour episodes which breaks this theory. Similar for Wednesday (50 minutes to an hour) which is much less of a comedy than The Bear is.

It used to be, but now the rule is just it tells a complete story start to finish that will not continue in future seasons

Assuming you are reacting to the idea, its not true as half the comedy noms are hour long, or rather, its not true any more. They got rid of the length requirements a couple of years ago and the distinction is just primarily comedic or primarily dramatic which I think is how it used to be. They changed to the episode length thing some years before no joke to stop Orange is the New Black from winning all the time. Theyve now changed back.

I just want bcs to win one. Even like sound mixing. It's criminal to be some of the best tv ever and not win even one

Obviously the hope is for Rhea to finally get what should be her 4th but it's doubtful
