The Russian military bombed Wagner group, so Wagner said fuck it and turned their sites on Rostov to capture the military HQ. Shit could get out of hand really quick.

I wonder how this turns out, I saw were apparently the Wagner guy basically declared war on the defense minister but I wasn't sure if it was literal or metaphorical... I'm guessing it was literal.

This has taken a turn that I dont think anyone predicted.

Hopefully Ukraine is able to strike during the confusion and take their lands back.

I'll believe that wagner is fighting russia when I see it. Until then, it's bluster and maybe a ruse to try to get Ukraine's attention. It'll be great if it does happen though. Would make things easier for Ukraine. Be great if the Georgian leadership wasn't under russia's thumb and fought to get their stolen territory back too. Hell, Japan should just go ahead and make it clear that those 4 islands are no longer disputed and are Japanese territory now. The ruskies deserve to have their teeth kicked in for what they've been doing.

It's important to keep in mind that there really aren't any "good guys" in this military revolt. Putin is bad, but if Prigozhin somehow did seize power, he'd probably be worse. He is a literal neo-nazi, and if he got his hands on nuclear weapons, he would probably use them. The best case outcome for this imo is Wagner Group is wiped out, and take a lot of the MoD down with them.

Supposedly Lukashenko brokered a ceasefire with Wagner and the coup is off. That doesn't really make any sense at all. This whole thing is weird as fuck.

If he somehow got power, Ukraine should launch a special military operation to denazify Russia.

Yeah looks like it's over, there's not going to be a fight for Moscow. That was anticlimactic. :| At least it caused panic in Russia for a while.

I wouldn't classify the whole thing as civil war. Though the Wagner group are citizens of the Russia, it's not like there was fighting breaking out between citizens and the rest of the russian government across the country. Just a small pocket. I'd call it a coup attempt or something similar.

Anyway, people are saying it's over as of this hour. But I find it hard to believe. How do both sides start killing eachother, making promises to kill one another, and then go back to business as usual less than 24 hours later? I think something must have happened behind the scenes, like some kind of power transition, or it's false info.

Yeah I jumped the gun on that one, I was expecting a lot more chaos.

I'm not sure what to think here. This could have been a stunt just to get them in Belarus. This could have been legit and something happened behind the scenes.

If they put Wagner is Belarus though, it means Ukraine can take ground in the south... but then they're in a better position to attack Kiev again. So overall worse for Ukraine I suspect?

My best theory is Wagner group was upset with the military leadership of Russia, not Putin (they stated this). And did what they did in protest of their poor decision making of the military. I think to deescalate Putin told them they can make their own plan, and their own plan is to attack from the North. Maybe that's giving them too much credit. idk.

All you need to know is that the overall plan is to get NATO fully involved in the war. They want WWIII, and every little goal post they move brings us closer. A good example is the recent announcement they made about declaring Article 5 should there be any kind of a "radiological event". Seems awfully convenient since the Zaporizhzhia plant is now running a risk of overheating, since someone (that someone most certainly being Ukraine) went and blew up the dam that kept the required water levels there.
