So I'm guessing none of you actually read the "leaked" documents that outright said most of the news was propaganda, and Ukraine was getting its ass kicked?

I used to work for a private GIS company that worked very closely with military intelligence. I was never privy to all of the confidential stuff, but I was close with people who were. It was plenty enough to learn about how the information is handled and how it gets used (or doesn't get used) to shape public opinion. You only need to look at Iraq and the WMD story to see that. That wasn't "bad intelligence". They knew nothing was there, but they needed the American people to support the invasion. I don't get how people can be blatantly lied to over, and over, and still gobble up the next lie with a smile.

Yup, you busted me. The Russians set up this account back in 2005 for just this very occasion. They had the genius foresight to realize that the best use of resources in 18 years would be to influence a bunch of nerds on a video game forum.

You mean the obviously photoshopped documents that don't reflect the reality of the situation in any way, shape or form? Cus there were multiple versions of those documents floating around, and the ones that said Ukraine were getting their asses kicked were obviously among the altered versions.

They were most certainly altered, but not by the Russians. Hence the reason I put very big quotation marks around the word leaked. If you honestly believe the Russians found those documents on Discord, and managed to remove and replace them with shopped versions before anyone on the server noticed, you're delusional. It supposedly took us weeks to find them, but the Russians made it there before the people that were actively viewing the stuff on the server could notice they were changed, please.

At this point I don't think it could end even if Putin wanted it to. He has successfully propaganda'd most Russians into hating Ukraine and now they can't back out without a massive loss of face. I legitimately think he'd be ousted by pro-war parties if Russia pulled out.

It'll end when Russia stops being a country and completely breaks up.

Until then, Ukraine will never stop pointing guns and shooting on sight even after they take back their territory. Like the USA and North Korea, the war doesn't end, only the invasion ends. The war has gone on too long and with too many war crimes and weapons of mass destruction. These things aren't easily forgiven.

"A lot of," yes, but he hasn't blocked me yet when I'm quite done with said nonsense. I'm not even bothering to respond to him anymore until he chooses to be leagues more than a spout for the sort of propaganda that a few seconds of search engines could unravel with ease, or looking up actual data or papers written by experts in related fields would surely bury if 30% or so of the world didn't prop itself up by spite and feces combined. No, until he's done treating us like we'd buy into becoming that 30-ish percent, I'm not giving that guy any more of my time or energy than this post entails.
