What is Game of the Month Club?
Game of the Month is a community project open to all B8ers where users share, discover, play and/or discuss a select few games every month. The games featured each month are chosen by YOU the users (and Lady Luck)

The Basics
- Each month will usually feature three games that were chosen via a random drawing from a pool of games that users nominated
- For each game you beat, you get a cool point on our just-for-fun standings as well as a nomination for next month's randomized drawing
- In order to receive the point and nomination, you must beat said game within the calendar month
- If you beat one of the current month's games in the previous month, you can apply for a "recently beaten waiver," but you will only receive a point and no nomination should you do so
- Drawing for next month's games is usually on the 25th
- If you periodically keep us posted on your progress and/or talk about different aspects of the games, then everyone will obviously think you are super awesome!

Nomination Rules
- You get one nomination automatically each month
- You receive additional nominations each month for every featured game that you beat
- Each game you nominate has to be unique from all other nominations and cannot include a game that has already been selected for GotM
- Each game must be a standalone game that can be acquired and played on its own (aka cannot be DLC/expansion that requires the base game)
- Nominations only carry over if you beat a featured game after the drawing for next month's games but before the end of the month
- You have 9 supports you can use throughout the year. Your only limitations are that you can't support your own nomination, and you can only use one support per game per month

Command & Conquer (Remastered) is part of EA Play for PC, so that should be available for anyone who subscribes to that or Game Pass PC/Ultimate

Normally I use the month of June to nominate indie games that people probably don't own or even know about and will likely be in the Steam summer sale, but we've had a noticeable dip in participation these past few months, so I'm going the Game Pass route in hopes of picking things up a little.

I started Katamari today, just did two levels (fans?).

Hopefully I finish Zelda this month and I can get back into this more again.

We Love Katamari Reroll was just released on Steam for $29.99. Not sure about the other modern systems. Im assuming Reroll was the impetus for the nom.

Nothing for me this month, I also need to wrap up Zelda so that works.

Nominate Journey

Not sure I'll play anything. I played through We Love Katamari summer 2021, and I think it's a little too soon for a replay of that right now with everything else I have to play. C&C is tempting but just another game to buy and add to my backlog.

Yeah, Reroll was what I was thinking, but I don't know that it really matters version wise. I had just never played Damacy until it got rereleased.

I have changed my character class in each ME game, and I think that Engineer must be a poor fit for 3 or something. Shields are easy to take down, but barriers and armor take forever, and since I am more than halfway through, it seems only a couple of squadmate powers make more than a minor dent.

Started up Mass Effect.

I want to play We Love Katamari, but between Street Fighter 6, and Zelda, it's pretty unlikely I get to it.

I'm playing Katamari so I think I will post here even though I've never "participated" in this topic before.

Man, I steadily more and more hate the C&C campaign as I play it.

KCF has beaten Mass Effect 3

Jeez, I was expecting to finish the trilogy in the fall, but here I am beating all three games in three months.

The first time I went through the trilogy, it was as scattered releases, but I'm pretty sure that I chose either synthesize or destroy the first time. The second time was during the same calendar year (2016 maybe?), and I picked what I didn't the first time of those two options. The third time just now I picked destroy again, and Shepard lives!? My Shepard died both times previously, so lol me for not doing whatever I did wrong to keep him alive.

I could change my second nom if it turns out it will be leaving Game Pass at the end of the month, but I will choose Garden Story as likely my last nom

Well I did beat the GDI campaign, so guess I have beaten it, just doesn't feel good how I had to do it.

I have Command & Conquer on my PSP via the PSN version. I played that a lot, great game.

268k roses (I'm going at a slow pace, doing them while listening to the daily VGMC matches)
Completed one speedrun (despite being years out of practice from PS2 I got 59 minutes in Reroll, which is symbolically significant for me)

All that's left now is to work on improving my level clear times so I can beat all of my old PS2 records. And I guess also get 100% on the few levels that don't explicitly require it (friends, wheels).

I wasn't sure if you beat it since you didn't bold it and your wording made it unclear if there were multiple campaigns or what. I've only played multiplayer on the N64 version more than 20 years ago.

Sorry about bold, I wasn't certain how much more I'd do and there are multiple campaigns but for the purpose of this topic I'd really consider only one campaign needed. Unless the person who nominated it thinks differently.

Beat We <3 Katamari. I bought it ages ago on PS2, but never played it. Took a little while to get things working, but that's the fun with old secondhand games.

Might try C&C. I've got a few of these unplayed.

We Love Katamari beated!

Yup, it's still Katamari. I remember playing this back at the original release and thinking, after having played the first game, "yep, this is about as much Katamari as I need". That still holds true today. It's remains a fresh, interesting game but after a few hours I'd had my fill again.
