I think it is highly possible Chris is an independent. Those fish are not harmless. And that he didn't have to reveal he was giving them out, but did so in fact to obfuscate his role as being town and fun, quirky, gimmicky instead of the actual sinister nature it is.

Basically, I believe he is dousing you all in oil and will light everyone on fire when the time is right to win. The oil is just you holding a goldeen in this case.

But, I'm not 100% on it. But, it does line up with Chris immediately assuming scum was a 4 man team despite the fact that the game requires 5 to be 25-33% for the scum team which is normal.

Been playing offsite a lot lately where the numbers for scum are a little lower overall actually so I have gotten used to it

Notably over 10 game days in poke wars I never assumed the scum team was less than 6 even though I was positive it was 5

I imagine if Corrik is right, the flavor would be more likely to be Arceus smiting everyone holding a Goldeen, since Chris mentioned Arceus previously as part of the flavor.

It was according to wiki a rumor they could active horn drill and oko the player. It was proven false, but wouldn't that be a twist if Kirby included it in the game. End of the day, flavor doesn't have to completely match the game. The goldeen can simply just not be harmless after all and been said to be goldeen to be viewed as harmless.

I guess another problem with Chris claim is why as town would you spell this out for scum which practically ensures you will never be able to successfully give everyone in the game a goldeen

When an arsonist douses you with oil, you aren't told you are doused with oil. Thus, saying it is harmless wouldn't be any different than not informing at all but given a quirk where you could claim it to "confirm" your role also.

It would obviously be a variant of it and not a 1:1 role.

Trying to think over why wallz would be killed

Hello friends. This is an awkward game situation. I kept up with D1 as it was happening, read most of D2 but was turned off a bit by how the game was going, then only skimmed D3 once I was asked to replace.

Before I knew who I was replacing, I was going to come in suspecting Plum because of his splinter vote D1 and getting so focused on Lea. But I obviously had my finger wrong there, because I now know 100% Plum was town. >_>

I know Plum was already claimed, so I'm just going to reiterate the actions he took before I joined.
N1: Watched Wallz. Saw Lea.
N2: Watched Chris. Saw no one.
N3: Watched Corrik. Roleblocked.

I need to reread D3 more completely to see what Plum was thinking. I remember Plum suspecting Cody D1, and Lea suspecting/voting Cody D3, so that may be a direction.

Can someone give me a good PoE list with levels of confidence on "confirmed town"?

Joyrock was barely present IIRC. Cody was the earliest standing vote on Marth D1. Sat on it and didn't have a reason to ever move it. Cody voted Joyrock with an hour and a half left in the day.

If we were to imagine a situation where Cody, a newer player, was coached on the scum board that it was okay to bus Joyrock at that point, then that time frame makes sense. Maybe a scum partner like Corrik who thought you (Chris) presented as confirmed town at that point and knew the lynch was going Joyrock's way at that point?

There's a lot I probably need to reread with context. Can I ask you to more directly comment on the option that Cody was coached to bus Joyrock with only an hour and a half left in the day? Just want you to acknowledge that part and not skip past it.

Separately, I reread Plum's posts for D3 and it's a little difficult because he was so dead set on Lea being scum that it colored a lot of his other views on things. Something that did stand out separately was his dislike of SBell. I think SBell probably gets a little bit of trust because of being on Joyrock D1, but then he shot Death and Plum's dislike of SBell came from an idea that SBell was making weird justifications for why he thought about shooting Plum before? So one of the only couple of times Joyrock was live posting for ten minutes in topic, where he tested Cody's claim then immediately went back to his previous vote.

I dunno, I feel like using Joyrock's alignment as a defense of Cody is a really weak defense. Obviously we should make case for why Cody is scum, and not for why Cody can or can't be town. I just think if you're ruling Cody out based on Joyrock, then I'm not sure I buy that.
