Yeah, San Andreas' map is so small when you see everything.

Morrowind is the same. The entire explorable area, DLC included, is about the size of just The Shivering Isles. Someone removed the fog and was able to see from one side of the island to the other, it is pretty goofy.

Tried playing without the fog and it fucked me up when I could see Vivec like right beside me when I got off the starting ship.

Guys am I a horrible father? If I kill my session I'll have to update, as such I had to deny my kids Mario Kart time and explained to them the situation. I don't think they quite grasp the gravity of the situation, but at the same time weren't too torn up about it either or I was willing to throw the switch.

Kind of, yeah. Being able to dupe is nowhere near big enough to stop your kids from playing what they want to play. >.>

You should have turned off auto updates man you were warned!

I have a solution for you tho, not ideal, if you bought physical, just back up your save data and delete the game, then update using the "from nearby devices" method with someone that has 1.1.1

If you bought digital, it'll still work if you rebuy the game physical.

As long as Auto update is off you're okay. If you're getting the prompt that an update has been downloaded and your options are start software / update / cancel it's already too late. The moment you exit the software the update will be applied.

Whew, Im stopping for the night. Ive now got:
* 11 hearts
* 3 stamina wheels
* 5 full batteries

Im over 80 hours in and I feel like I havent done even a third of the exploration possible. This is nuts.

Not as much as Elden Ring.

I think you can still go to settings and disable auto-update if the game is suspended and you might be fine.

But you should've done that earlier >_> You were warned lol

I have auto update off. When I close TotK I get the options Start Software, Download or Cancel. If you hit start Softwarw you are fine.

my wife has played Wildfrosf a few times since the patch came out and Im still on 1.1.1. Not sure if youve downloaded it though

Yeah. Ive done that before, as well Just kept choosing start software for some games

Lots of exploration in that one, I assume That said, I feel like it would still be much harder than TotK I like how in many areas, I can explore without trying to not die constantly

Eh, it is my Switch. None of them are old enough to have their own yet but close. And it's not like I deprive them, we play Mario Kart all the time.

The Yiga Clan's stupid antics keep making me laugh. The cuckoo quest is a riot.

There is a talking cuckoo that makes prophecies. When you meet him it has you do stupid menial tasks to fulfill the prophecy. After a few of them he thinks Link is all tired out and reveals he actually isn't a cuckoo, but a Yiga Clan member.

Doesn't really seem worth fully upgrading most pieces of armor. Probably just better off fully upgrading only the stuff you really like wearing and aiming for the set bonuses at most with everything else.

Its a completionist thing. I plan to do it until I get tired of it.

Definitely upgrade the soldier gear for max defense. The elemental gear is nice too if you fight a gleeok so you're immune to freeze/shock but still have decent defense

Do I just have bad luck? I've killed a bunch of Octoroks and still havent gotten a single octorok eyeball yet.

There needed to be an elixir or some kind of temporary enchantment for increasing the chances of getting some drops, because I swear some of them are rare.

The Soldier gear really isn't that worth it for defense. The Zoanite Armor gives the same defense but also gives one of the most busted passives (and set bonuses) in the game. That said both are lower than the armor that you get for doing all of the shrines. At least in terms of the raw armor stat (the Zoanite armor's passive + set bonus is still way better). I haven't ever used the Beam Sword but I somewhat struggle to believe that the bonus to it is going to be anywhere near good enough to make the comparison not the same.

RIP. With that sort of thing I've always found it to be a feast or famine sort of deal. I go an hour without a single needed drop, and then suddenly I get 10+ back to back.

its definitely worth upgrading the Froggy armor and Climbing armor. Makes traversal so much better

Glide armour too. But more for the lols

Eh, the hover bike has kind of ruined all other methods of travel for me.

It has to be a free fall. If you open the glider, tap the dive button to go back to a free fall. The suit power doesn't work otherwise.

Alright, I now have:

• 12 hearts
• 3 full stamina wheels
• 8 batteries

Gonna do some more side quests now. I might eventually do the fire temple quest, but the Goron and Gerudo cities are my least favorite in this world.

They got rid of the obnoxious costume requirements for the gerudo. Riju gives you a personal exemption.

Dazzlefruit against Stal enemies has been incredibly useful. They're not hard obviously, but they can be kind of annoying. Especially in the Depths. Dazzlefruit insta-kills all Stal enemies at once with minimal effort on the player's part.

They make Stalnox laughably easy as well

I wish I knew that. Running around whacking their skulls is annoying
