You get a medal for defeating every instance of a miniboss. The list includes:

Hinoxes
Moldugas
Taluses
Flux Constructs
Froxes
Gleeoks

Includes all variants like stalnoxes. Got the molduga medal since there's only a handful of them. But there's over 70 Taluses and Hinoxes apparently, including in the depths.

Below lookout landing in the shelter, there's a guy near a map and a gerudo woman (if you've beaten that temple).

He'll first give you quests to kill a hinox, talus, and molduga. After which he quests you to kill one of each of the frox, flux, and gleeok. Following this you can see how many you have left to defeat. He also gives quests to aid some hyrule soldiers in eliminating monster camps.

He'll give you the medal when you've fought every instance of that miniboss.

Also if you've fought a specific miniboss, next time you fight them there is a defeated star next to their health bar, which helps keep you from fighting them over and over on accident. I'm gonna use the map to mark off any I kill with a sword stamp or something, I think.

I'm unsure if the temple boss refights also give a reward like that.

Yea, I think I'm gonna tackle them one at a time to make tracking the kills easier. I'm almost done with the flux constructs since they're easy to spot in both the sky and depths. You can just mark them on your map and fly on over. I think the Hinox, Frox, and Talus fights will be the hardest to complete since they could be anywhere in the depths and overworld. Not even sure if there's a location guide just yet.

Speaking of completionist stuff, some more things to know.

All caves on the map with a checkmark indicate you've gotten their bubbel gem.
The game will let you know if you've gotten an old maps' treasure.
Once you've had a sky tablet deciphered, it's marked on the map with a scroll icon.
Every goddess spring in the overworld has an accompanying bargainer in the depths.
The 4 shrines on the great plateau in botw are replaced with chasms. (not really completionist but cool trivia)

I just heard there is a way to that make the boss fight at the Wind Temple much cooler and dramatic. Kind of wish I tried it instead of going with the obvious EZ mode solution I figured out right away.

Instead of shooting is weak spots with EZ mode slow down arrows, you dive through the weak spots. Did anyone actually do this or did you just shot him with arrows like me?

It's what I did. The spots reminded me of the ice spots that you break all over the region. I figured it was the intended method. My wife did it with arrows.

I did it once. I used arrows for all the others.

I probably meant white-maned, though now I think I have to double check.

So, I went and double checked, and... yeah, I hadn't seen a white-maned Lynel yet. Just had these guys roaming around in spots where there should have been Blue or Reds. (This was north of Kakariko).

There was a shrine that wanted me to roll balls into pressure plates, but I just used bomb arrows to cheese it >_>

I'm in Temple 4. Got 112 Shrines, 110 Light Roots, and so forth.

Is there a NPC or something that can direct you to any missing Sage's Wills? I missing 3, IDK where they could be, and I really don't feel like going all around the sky islands a 3rd time just to find those 3.

I borrowed my friend's amiibos for a couple hours, scanned them nonstop, didnt get a single paraglider fabric >_> Literally all I got was Epona and dupes of armor I already had. What the fuck is the chance of this shit?

I found one in one of the death stars It was a
Light puzzle tk get a shrine, but you could also get a Sages Will Did you get that one? And I also got one for beating the Sky King Gleeok Others I just found around so far

I think I got paragliders on my first scan of most of mine I have to borrow my friends who has the others, though

I feel dirty trying to "rush" through this, but I want to beat it before FF16 comes out. I just completed the Gerudo Town defense from the Gibdos, not sure how far I am. By "rushing through", I mean I'm not getting distracted by Koroks, side quests, shrine hunting, etc. I'm making a beeline from main quest to main quest, making occasional deviations if I see an obvious shrine or I come across a side quest or cave or something. Excellent game so far.

I had gotten all of those. The 3 I ended up missing were.

2 in the Faron region (both of which being on the 2 separate lightning storm islands)

The other was in a walled off chest I passed by due to laziness early in the game because I didn't know they were a thing at the time and thought the chest was just going to be some weapon or gem I didn't really need.

Bless fan artists. Been seeing a trend on Twitter of them making art of Zelda taking Link's place as the hero instead and she's wearing his Archaic garb. I'm sure you know what that means.

Finally got the OoT and MM paragliders. It only took like 50 scans before I got it

Just beat all 4 areas and will probably do more shrines I guess.

Im mostly doing sky island and shrines I got all the lightroots some days ago, and decided to use those to find some surface shrines And there are many sky islands that I havent really been to or checked

We're a few weeks in. I think we're a bit past the point of "light roots correlate with surface shrines" as a spoiler. :-P

so ugh, i did two of the main objectives so far.

glad i did the desert temple first cause that lightning power is pretty useful! specially when i go into an enemy base! >_>

with most open world games, i feel bored doing the same type of sidequests over and over.

but as far as this goes, i don't feel fatigued. heck i actually feel compelled to explore more! this is how you make an open world game that doesn't suck! lol

even the sign simp and the lonely koroks who want to reach their fwends don't annoy me that much now. >_>

Plus I'm about to be done playing once I get all the shrines and I'll probably start something else like Yakuza 5 or Street Fighter 6 afterwards >_>

FINALLY I found Royal Guard Sword

Finally nearing the end of my playthrough. All that's left that I want to do is find the remaining shrines (have about 5 or 6 left), finish the the Misko Adventures sidequest, and beat Kohga how ever many more times i have left (hes currently at the mine under Rito Village), then I think I'm going to move on to taking out Ganondorf.

I think this has been the longest its ever taken me to beat a game on a 1st time playthrough. Last I saw a couple days ago I was at 163 hours.
