No. I actually have really vivid, lucid dreams where I'm seemingly in control of my actions. They've been really intense ever since I started zoloft. Sometimes I wake up and have trouble adjusting because it feels so real

I think I don't, but I'm halfways unsure about it. If I tell myself "think of a car", I know I'm thinking about thinking of a car, but I'm not sure if I'm perceiving it in the same way most people do. When I try to think back about it, I dunno if I had an actual image in my head.

I think I do, yes. It's really hard for me to close my eyes and picture things. Also my dreams are extremely fuzzy, it's more like a feeling of something happening than seeing something happening.

It has to do with day-dreaming.

No, but I don't have an inner voice, and I can't converse internally.

I used to, but it just peaced out at one point. I can think auditorily, but none of the voices I make will be my own.

Makes sense. I have untreated adhd. I'm just already on epilepsy medication and an anti depressant so I don't want to be on any more drugs. I just smoke a lot of weed instead

Usually I am at about a 4. Sometimes I can't get that clear. If I can't focus I might be closer to 2 or 3. sometimes, if I zone out to the point I don't actually see what I am looking at and focus on my thoughts, I get an image with more clarity. Either 5 or 6.

When my brain is in flight-or-fight it's difficult to visualize. That's why I always thought those visualization excercises for stress and anxiety were BS.

If some people are unable to visualize, I wonder how they recall how something appeared in their memory?

I think in plans for the most part. What I'm going to do next and how. No inner dialog though. I don't even have a real identity, I just think about what I should say and how I should come off. Lol. If there is a real me, it's in the eye of the observer.

Sometimes when thinking I'll hear single words, like "sleep". These are more like my list of commands for myself to move around and do next.

But yeah, I'm basically one big empty scheme. Just endless manipulation of people around me. If someone asks anything about what I'm thinking I make something up and never give the same answer twice.

It's pretty hard to blend in. So exhausting pretending to be normal tbh. Is there a real you, or is it just me? If I find out the rest of you are only pretending to be normal too, I'm going to flip. That would mean we're all just wasting our time.

I dont think I have this, but when I hear other people describe how vividly they can imagine things, or how vividly they daydream, or how a movie plays while they read, etc I definitely dont have that happen. If were talking about a boat, I think about a boat; Im not literally picturing a boat.

same thing with the inner monologue. I dont have full conversations with myself, but I do think about what Im going to say and what Im going to do. Its not like Im working just on lizard brain lol But Im not narrating my life to myself.

If that's how things have always been for a person, they could probably make due, although I imagine there would be things they would struggle with.

No inner monologue is hard for me to wrap my head around, but most people feel the same way about aphantasia, and to me it's just how it is.

It's like a house cat living a perfectly content and happy existence never knowing that there's an outside world.

Depends on if I wanna keep track of the numbers or not, d20 is about it, so maybe 2 or 3d6.

If I don't keep track of the numbers and I'm just spinning cubes then about 20... any more than that fills up all my brain-visible space

Yeah, visualizing things with the mind's eye creates an image in the mind. I never thought it might vary from person to person and that some might not be able to mentally visualize stuff.

It's probably connected, but I also tend to have super vivid dreams, daydream a lot, and can visualize things great.

Thinking about it, it's easy to see why some people might go insane. If someone has a constant stream of mental images and no filter between what's real and what's not. That would be terrifying.
