Technically Stardust Crusaders is a remake of two different Stardust Crusaders series!

I don't think anyone would argue David should have just skipped Part 3 because it was already out there.

That's fair to some extent, but it just seems pointless in some scenarios. Most people wouldn't be excited for any 2000s movies to be remade as another movie, for example. How would you feel if Momoru Hosoda's next film was announced to be a remake of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time?

You're allowed to feel however you want. I'm just saying I don't see much that interests me. Based on the preview, they'll be covering material from the old anime, bringing back the old cast, and using fairly similar art and music. There's not much of a "new take" being promised.

I haven't seen the old anime so I'm excited! Always wanted to give it a whirl and now I have an excuse.

Getting to a new crowd is the best part about it for sure. Always glad to see more S&W fans, and could lead to further seasons.

Made me think about which anime I would want remade most.

Twelve Kingdoms is up there, but IIRC the books never finished either so it wouldn't help much. Plus it has become extremely accessible in recent years after being pretty tough to watch or buy for a while.

Don't think anything can compete with Baccano. Original anime is not legally available anywhere and there's like 100 episodes worth of content left to adapt. Plus doing so would require them to start over anyways since the original show pick and chose little details from various stories to toss in here and there.

Can I choose to remake One Piece?

Start from the beginning. Fix the pacing, cut filler, animate the cover stories. And with better animation that shows the artistic detail that exists in the manga.

You could get to where they are now in like 500-600 episodes. And then you make it seasonal so it can stay at that level.

You can do it faster than that at an average of 3 chapters an episode, but there's no way that's happening before the end.

If you're looking for a One Piece redo you better hope you still care in 15 years when they start it.

Mashle Season 1 finished. It's alright. I like the comedy aspects of it, but the action isn't what I was hoping for.

They didn't waste any time announcing Season 2 though coming in 6 months

I feel like it gets really generic sometimes when it's not on Mashle.

It's not jail if you can subscribe and watch a simulcast. It's only jail if the service's release model is preventing you from watching on release by any legal means.

Gundam definitely felt a bit rushed (the extreme pacing was great for the start and middle of the cour but less so for an ending), but overall I had a blast. One of the better Gundams I've seen.

Didn't mind the pacing, but didn't care for the light show conclusion, and I don't think any amount of extra episodes would change that

I am not too high on it. Even though the ending was weak and rushed it's at least better than McGillis playing checkers while everyone else was playing 5D chess. The second to last episode was my personal favorite but also the cringiest. I don't know how many hear watched the original 0079 Gundam but that fencing duel was like the most blatant cringe homage I've ever watched. Right down to Suletta imitating the headless Gundam raising its beam rifle. The saving grace of that episode is of course Bob surviving. There was so many fucking death flags in that episode, right down to Lauda coming in with a new Gundam (like Riddhe in Unicorn) to fight his brother.

Which, considering large portions of the series are specifically Utena references and homages, lines up!

But most instances of isekai for anime is some lonely virgin going to a world and gaining godly powers. These comic book heroes already have powers. If they isekai into another world might as well just call that the multiverse which DC is no stranger to.

I mean if it's the Suicide Squad isekai'ing to a world where they have no powers and have to work at a fast food restaurant to pay their bills maybe that would be interesting... WB execs if you are reading this write that down.
