Yeah sounds like he's gonna get no suspension. League rules are so stupid

If a bench player steps onto the court during an on court scuffle. Ban. Always enforced.

If an on court player steps on an actual person during an on court scuffle. No ban.

It's ridiculous. Like they are so strict on that first one that they had to stagger the bans for the Magic because everyone stepped on the court when Moe Wagner got punched in the back of the head and knocked out.

I'm still not over losing Stoudemire in 2007 for this

You can put an asterisk on every title in NBA history (or probably any sport's history) if you're willing to nitpick enough. Most people forget those reasons over time except for fans of the team where the break went against them.

But the Suns couldn't even force a game 7 and rolled over in game 6, so who cares.

Yup. They were up like 15 in game 5 too and blew it, so that probably killed their morale. Not to mention teams that win game 5 in a 2-2 series win like 80% of the time.

I'm obviously not saying they definitely would have won the series, and they always had trouble with the Spurs, so there's a good chance they would have just lost regardless. I think they would have been the favorite though

Most players who play dirty get penalized harsher because of reputation and because that's the only way to corral their behavior. Draymond gets it the other way. It's like he does so much bad stuff that they let him get away with too much because it's not as bad as some of the things he does.

It also feels like the league plays favorites. True or not, that's something Boston fans hate - you can probably chalk it up to persecution complex.

That all said, Sabonis writing around on the court like a Euro soccer player is probably worse for the league than what Draymond did. (please don't bring up Paul Pierce's wheelchair that was totally legit >_>)

I think the common consensus is that sabonis was shielding himself and didn't mean to grab his leg, but he did still grab his leg so it warranted a foul call

Also it's wild how many talking heads have been saying Draymond shouldn't have been ejected or suspended.

At least one of them was honest and said it was because it decreases the drama of the series but yeah.

It's also been crazy to me to see how many people expected the Warriors to flip the switch like them being a horrendous road team was an anomaly. Believe what your eyes are telling you. This team isn't that good.

I wish people would stop looking at it as a Warriors collapse or a Draymond suspension and start giving the Kings some credit as the higher seed and the better team. yeah they're champions but the Kings are pretty real. not championship level real, but the whole media narrative was how every team in the league wanted the Kings in the first round. now if the Warriors lose it'll be because Draymond got suspended and the can will get kicked further down the road.

I was just listening to lowe post today and marc spears was like "no one will give this team respect unless they reach the conf finals"

Sometimes team brand is very powerful and the kings have been the posterchild of terrible for a while now. "yeah but they're the kings" matters to people

I know this is going to sound crazy, but I feel like Giannis sometimes holds that team down. They work best when they are sharing the ball and doing their thing. With Giannis in, it's the Giannis show and it all goes through him, which means if he's having a bad game, and not sharing while he's at it, the team suffers.

This team without Giannis is tied 1-1 with the 8th best team in the East.

Yeah, this feels like this has become much more of a thing in the playoffs in recent years, and it's why it seems like we don't have a lot of close playoff games anymore. One team gets hot on a given night and wins by double digits, rinse, repeat.

I'd say those 50%+ games aren't the norm that you make them out to be, but it's true that variance is a lot higher now with the advent of pace and space. I think the double digit wins are more a function of a higher score - a 12 point lead is what a 7 or 8 point lead used to be in the 2000s. it's just that a 20 point win is now a 30+ point one.

It's bad but I'm not sure how avoidable it is without adding extra days into the schedule.

Kings / Warriors are always going to be late starts midweek because of where the home arena is regardless of the home team. Then you have 2 other LA teams in the playoffs who share an arena and are both seeded to be at home at the same time. So what are they supposed to do

Kawhi? Injured? I'm shocked.

If Kawhi didn't have injury issues he's one of the best players ever. But his fragility has made me not believe the Clippers hype. I'm also on the side that Paul George has been incredibly overrated since leaving Indiana. He has a moment where he can take over, sure, but he doesn't get the results like they hype him up to do.
