So they kept the same trick then. The blood moon is angry at me in BOTW.

I swear I've run into this sign guy more than I have shrines.

What is there to actually get in the depths?

Well, I was just wandering around the depths, minding my own business, and a glowing red Lynel came charging out of the darkness and one-shot me. So you can get killed.

Otherwise, it's the main place to get Zonaite to upgrade your charge, so there's that.

The depths is where you get Zonaite for battery upgrades, and also rare weapons and gear, or a currency to get rare gear. Also theres major quests down there that you want to be doing.

It's also just really fun. I've been quite enjoying wandering around there, even without having any immediate reason to do so.

Also yeah every time I see the sign guy I help him. I have like 6 or 7 sleepover tickets. Wish the map would track which signs youve fixed.

If you havent already, I suggest doing the big quest on the Great Plateau. You get a nice reward and on the way to completing it you get something extremely useful.

Yeah did the Great Plateau questline and the related thing, then I went around the Depths for a while exploring and amassing resources, and now I have an entire second battery. Then I went to Hateno and did the questline there so I can wear the Hylian Hood down. Don't know why you need to do a questline to pull your hood down but you do.

I did some more exploring in the depths today and unlocked blueprinting. This is going to come in handy.

There's 21 battery upgrades right? Cus the thing on Link's hip has 8 slots, and each battery has 3 sections.

I don't know about that. I can already imagine how handy it'll be to just create things out of thin air. I do really need to head back up to the sky to grab some extra capsules, though, particularly the control platform thingies. Not being able to steer my shenanigans is a pretty major limitation.

Im no sure if it changes, but I remember the gumball machine next to Tarrey Town gave me a bunch of control panels when I used it If that helps at all

I don't really enjoy getting 1 shot by everything in the early game of this and BotW

I know things were out of hand in TP when the G man did like half a heart of damage but surely there's a compromise

At least in this if youre at full health and take damage you will always be left with a quarter heart if the attack would otherwise kill you

Do you need a food effect or certain armor for this? I've been 1shot from full health a couple of times now

I dont think so, I think as long as its a direct attack from an enemy and not like a rock or fall damage or something you will be left with one quarter heart.

That sounds right then, the last two times I was instantly killed was getting hit by a Talus boulder and getting caught in a series of explosions

Yeah, it takes a while to get all your powers and really get going. Even when you get down to Hyrule there are a few quests to do before you can just set off.

Yeah takes a little while to get going. Technically after you leave the Great Sky Island you're free to go wherever you want, but you want to head to Lookout Landing asap. After that there's nothing stopping you from going wherever you want.

Im watching my brother play. We were just fucking around seeing where he could go and we found the Master Sword and were both fucking speechless right now.

Just did the Rito dungeon. The section before the dungeon was epic as hell. The theming of the dungeon was awesome. The boss fight was epic but easy. The actual dungeon was easy. It was better than any of the dungeons in BotW, but it wasnt a great dungeon. But it also wasnt bad.

Aonuma said BotW/TotK are the template for Zelda games going forward which makes me very excited, but Reddit people are like noooo this is awful, dont do this again please which I dont understand at all. Skyward Sword was absolutely horrible, I never want them to do that again.

skyward sword is the only 3D Zelda Ive never finished despite buying the Wii and switch versions and attempting to play it like 3-4 times. shit suuuuuucks.
