-GalacticBass- 03/16/23 11:20:26 PM #1:	spoilers One of the primary focuses of the movie is the dialogue between Brendan Fraser and the young man who is trying to get him repent and accept Jesus. Brendan Fraser's character completely rejects God throughout the movie and even places blame upon himself for telling his deceased boyfriend that he doesn't need God, he only needs him. Because his deceased boyfriend rejected God and the church, he was filled with so much guilt that he took his own life. You could tell there was a great conflict within him as it is shown in the movie. He had a verse in his bible bookmarked and highlighted that obviously meant a lot to him. If I'm remembering correctly, this was the verse "For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live." Romans 8:13 The boyfriend could not allow himself to repent and put to death the deeds of the body. In the same way, Brendan Fraser could not allow himself to repent and live according to the spirit. Their lives of sin brought them to their end. This movie is a powerful demonstration of the life of complete rejection of The Lord. But it is also an example of His grace by bringing the young man to him multiple times to plead with him. God wants reconciliation with us. He does not want us to go to Hell. Do not reject His spirit. Search for God and read His Word. We do not have to die in our sins. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. He has died for our sins and paid our debts.
