Definitely 4 - it was my first and I still love it to this day. Id rank it in my top 5 and its not at 5 either.

Im surprised to see so much love for 5 here. Thats the one I feel like gets talked about the least aside from 3. And 1. As for 12, I want to like it but I just cant. Ive even tried playing through it again recently and I dont like it. Maybe I suck at the gambits or something but its not for me.

I think 5 had the advantage of being bundled with 6 on PS1 with FF Anthology, so there was a decent chance people were able to play it. Hell, I think 2 got trash talked because, once again, there was a PS1 bundle with FF Origins so at least we got it in the states.

I don't think there was an official US release of 3 until the 3DS, so even though it had updated graphics and some changes to the story, it was old enough that nobody really cared to even try it out. Not to mention it came out a month after 12 released.

For those who can read Kanji simultaneously Katakana like myself it would be the PSP 2011 Final Fantasy Type 0

The PS4 and Xbox One translation was so bad I stopped playing at the beginning on PS4 iteration makes no sense compared to what they actually say in the 2011 version its like someone tried to use Google Translate which does not work especially when there are numerous variations of Japanese dialect

Lets see you have

1)Standard Kanji

2)Romanized Kanji

3)Traditional Kanji

4)Simplified Kanji

5)Standard Katakana

6)Romanized Katakana

7)Traditional Katakana

8)Standard Katakana

Google Translate does not translate all of these only a few and by inputting the wrong dialect into it you will get something completely different from the initial

I really want to hear from people who played that 3 port. Or frankly any port of 3 thats come out including the steam re-release

If i can choose the Zodiac edition, then maybe 12. But without fast forward and all the quality of life improvements, that game is a bore.

This was my first time playing it. But the game had a bug where it would freeze and crash whenever the one Meteor fell. Not the first one but I think the second one. I could never get past it and I didn't have my receipt to exchange it. I discovered emulation shortly after and got to play it. I like 5.
