I out so many hours into 15 but it felt like eating a bag of meh potato chips. Empty unfulfilling calories. Cant name a single side quest that advanced anything important in the story

The only ones I played were 10, 10-2, 12, and the 13 trilogy. Oh and some GB one a friend let me borrow in grade school that I used a gameshark for and don't even remember the game. Probably FF1. But out of these options, I'm going with 13. I actually enjoyed 13. 10 would be my favorite though.

Yeah. It had a weird trance over me. I platinumed it on accident and it's the only game I platinumed in the last like 8 years. I even did that super frustrating abstract platforming dungeon. That is probably the most bizarre and frustrating area Ive ever done in a game. It makes the ledges in Blighttown seem like childs play. Even though there's no enemies to push you off them from what I can remember. Just that stupid stumble forward you did.

12 > 14 > Tactics > 4 > 5 > 8 > 15 > 11 > 13 > 3 > 1 > 2

X-2, the 13 spinoffs, and most of the other spinoff or "sequel" games fall into that mediocre space between 11 and 3. If we can put FF7R on here it's between 4 and 5.

6, 7, 9 and 10 all fall somewhere before 8, with 9 being the best game

Maybe 14 but that might be a little hard to defend. I like it because story/lore/world setting is what I've been wanting in a FF game since 9.

There are dungeons and bosses and a small raid series that normally require multiple players. However, they have been going back and making a lot of the dungeons able to be ran with a party of NPCs which works pretty decent. You can't avoid grouping with others totally but it's starting to be less and less time required to do it.

There's honestly almost as little communication needed in FF14 as there is with fighting games. Unless someone is screwing up, most communication is relegated to someone saying "hi" and then "gg". You don't even interact with people to start a dungeon, the game queues you with people automatically.
