Zangief Vs Beast Gief?

My guy, I have literally been soloing everything now that I realized the power of Beast Gief. Lol

Legit I was stuck on Shadaloo Hideout, 10-40, and Floor 140 and now I beat Shadaloo Hideout, 11-40, and Floor 150.

Use Beast Gief. Just go manual and wait until the enemy is about to get their first special bar, smash your combo until his SP3 and let everyone get stunned.

Concerning other folks, Chun-Li's SP1 is what I always open with because it can lower defense values.

Abel, Mad Ryu, Chun-Li, and Beast Gief is the squad.

Edit: If you guys want, you can probably check out my replay on some of these. But Beast Gief and Mad Ryu should probably be on your Limit Break squad at the very least.

So I decided to spend the arcade tokens I've been saving

I was HOPING I'd get enough of the Grown tasks along the way to recover some of them, but I didn't get enough haha

Viper is now S rank and I got Regular Ryu on S rank haha

I got a dupe decapre and awoke her

so I have two now

if I rank her to S, I can get her to S+ immediately, hence why I was asking about her. I need 3 more fire faction fodders and then I can get that going

I also am capable of getting Guy to S rank but I have never used him before, hence me asking about him too

Guy and Decapre are better back line fighters. They have their uses to snipe enemies past the tanks. Decapre is probably better though.

so heres the situation

If I Sacrifice Guy, Yun, Thawk (LOL), two A+ Rufus' and an A+ Ibuki

....I could level up my S+ Fei Long into SS rank

I kinda like the idea of having Guy but I recognize Decapre can do the same as him, and I have the capability of leveling up Decap further than I do Guy right now

I constantly hear Fei Long sucks too so...should I be wasting resources on him? but yet ..hes all I got LOL

this is alot of sacrifice to go in a direction I'm completely uncertain of

but I guess thats life as well, isn't it?

Yea Beast Gief sounds pretty cool

My Evil Ryu now has that thing where he launches a Hadouken everytime he kills someone and sometimes he just solos the room when he gets that going

the only issue now is that I only get an A rank Gief, it'll be a long while before I can promote him further

I can only speak to my experience fighting them, but Decapre constantly gives me more issues. I haven't played with either of them enough to know for certain which is better, but I see people speaking more about Decapre.

I think Fei Long has his uses too, but your resources can probably go somewhere else.

Any B-rank fighters should be used as fodder to awaken your other characters though. They all can't hold up as the game progresses and they're so common they're best used to buff other characters.

Basically, I think you need, at minimum, a Tank and ability to do a full 4 special combo. And then build around having the 4/2 team build of character types for the buff there.

You have Mad Ryu, so definitely build around him. You want him alive as long as possible. So you need an actually good tank, and preferably not T. Hawk who is trash. I'd use a Flame or Thunder one because you have a C. Viper leveled up pretty well already and she's outstanding. Back line fighter, AOE, she's got it all. Zangief probably works for your tank as well though. I don't think he's amazing, but he'll do better than T. Hawk.

Having a stun/interrupt power is pretty ace though. It's the only reason I'm able to get as far as I can right now. I can't recall if regular Zangief has any of that. But I'd try to focus on someone with one of those to round out your team.

instead of Fei Long I chose the OTHER option

one of the Global Operations, the Labyrinth I think, has a Free Mad Ryu
I pulled one not too long ago

so I gave the A+ one to my S Evil Ryu and made him + Ultra

then finally...I sacrificed my Precious S+ REGULAR Ryu for the Cause

I could have built Beast Zangief

Went with Abel instead because he synergizes Evil Ryu with the bond bonus. He seems decent enough so hopefully I don't end up regretting it.

I use Abel AND Beast Gief!

Abel offers defense to everyone and then Beast Gief has the stuns!

I guess I could put Beast Zangief in there. I really want to bring Cody back though his chain was useful (I used him as merge fodder for Chun Li)

The only problem with Cody is that he stops leveling at, I think, 140. And you can find better utility somewhere else.

Cap is 160 which my top guys still aren't at. I'll just reset him when the 160 becomes a problem.

It def feels like my team worked better with him than with 2x tanks. He's pretty tanky himself.

I almost beat 12-40 which is another two Mad Ryus. Got literally one regular attack away but the last Mad Ryu popped a special and killed me.

I coasted along the 10-XXs and beat 10-40 too without any trouble, I'm only noting it because I've seen people talk bad about it

I'm now....on 11-40

the fight with Abel, Bison, Dhalsim, and Fei Long

I know i beat a whole world and a half

but I can't believe I'm at another brick wall GOD DAMN

I was on top of hte world for only ONE DAY

but this time I have no feasible strat. Even if I promoted my people and use my newly acquired tokens, I don't think its enough

at least I beat 150 on Supreme Fist, I'm content with that

you can only use a mercenary ONCE in Challenge and Supreme, then you have to wait a whole ass week

I had no idea, I just used my borrowed fighters right away not knowing this, so I wasted them already

If you don't stun Dhalsim at the start of the combo, you get fried. That's why I used Beast Gief to just stun him right away and whittle down everyone. I don't know if you have anyone who can interrupt or stun a backline fighter like that, but it's about the best shot you got.

I was stuck on 12-40 for a while, because I had to get three perfectly timed stuns in a row to stuff their supers.

I'm chugging along through 13 now. I got stuck at Floor 173. Also stuck at the final boss of the Shadaloo Labyrinth.

You need to time it perfectly. Dhalsim's is kinda tricky too.

The way to do it is to wait until they almost have a full meter, then start mashing. Preferably with a move that knocks them down at the start (like Chun-Li's Combo starter), and then by the time they stand up, they're going to use their combo immediately, so try to time it so Beast Gief does his tornado and sucks them in right at the start so it interrupts them. You've probably seen Beast Gief's tornado sucking them towards him, so that's the thing you need to stuff the attacks.

See if my replay is still there for an idea on how it works.

I was doing the tornado during their attacks but I did not know there was a sweetspot you were supposed to do it in

its the sloppiest, dumbest, luckiest, asshalfed way to win but if you watch the replay it looks like a robot did it. It took several tries and I got the timing down.

It's honestly less nonsense than everything else. Hugo - Chun-Li - Guile - Beast Gief

It's more manageable than the other walls, but their health pools are completely ridiculous. I can only get Hugo down after 3 rounds, and then Chun-Li close. But Guile has too many AOEs that if I mess up once it's over.

this is where I'm at NOW, thats how that fight was, I'm just severely underleveled ALREADY

so yea, I think I'm content with settling here. I'll just collect my dailies and stuff and build myself back up and try to promote from here on out.

That bison fight was so stressful and nerve wracking that I can't imagine doing it again, and again, and AGAIN after. I'm already stuck on 12-3 and its not even a remarkable team either. Its gonna get to the point where their regular strikes are gonna kill me, or at least severely injure me

11-40 and 150 supreme fist are good milestones to relax on

I find the challenge of it more fun than stressful myself! If I get frustrated, I just move on to something else!

Just upgraded Mad Ryu to SS+ Lvl 160, and Chun-Li, Abel, and Beast Gief to S+ Lvl 141+. I'm about halfway through 14 now, at Floor 170, and I was finally able to beat the final boss of Shadaloo Labyrinth. I also finally unlocked the branching Fighting Souls thing (I think that's what it's called) to upgrade my individual stats.

I think I can keep ploughing through stage 14 and then probably the new Global Quest thing.

Wonderland gave me a Juri. My first of the "other" factions.

Hit another wall. Got Beast Gief to SS, but I'm stuck on 15-40 now because it has a Cody. And at that rank, he gets a move that lets him start off a lower damage combo (but still quite a bit at that stage), and then if I can interrupt it after the first one, Combat Guile pops off with another one. Really not sure how to deal with this one aside from making my guys beefier.

Still caught on Floor 186, and Collapsed Cave is still pretty outrageous to beat.

Wow, they added a lot of content for the Monster Hunter stuff. If you need more stuff, that all should help.

he comes with fully upgraded gear and takes on the highest level of your party

and his skills are triggers that don't take up spots in the combo, they just happen

let him help you roll what you're stuck on

yeah the 3 day trial of ken is absolutely busted.

so much so that i feel like it could be weeks before my regular team is strong enough to beat whatever stage i'll be on when he leaves

Fortunately when you get further in stages, you also get more idle rewards to make it easier to level up.

I'll have to try out Mon Hunny Ken here soon.

Welp. Where I'm at in the game, Mon Hunny Ken is not helping. lol He was very useful in Shadaloo City when my Chun-Li fell, but aside from that he's getting smashed where I need him to clutch out.

I may give him a shot on Guild Operation since he seems completely busted with buffs though.

This monster hunter event seems pretty predatory so if this is the standard I might already be out.

But I'm zooming through the 12s right now so we'll see.

This whole game is predatory. 99.99 M Bison pack and Bison being busted was all you needed there.

Though if you can unlock the divination draws getting M Bison isn't too hard he has a 2% drop rate from those if you pick him. Though you can't put the Monster Hunter guy in the divination.

My main concern is if every event has an OP character and they're all as predatory as this that would soon make even M Bison not good enough to hang.

Looks like I got 10 Monster Guy Tokens just from hanging around and doing the raid though-- that happens 6 times and you get a Monster Hunter Guy.

The first divination you use once you clear 15-40 DOES always give you a free M. Bison at least.

The event guy gives you a huge damage boost to the monster just by being on your team so when your trial expires your damage tanks.

I quit the game when I saw how much my damage decreased. Just poor game design imo.

I even managed to get the limit break going and everyone is now 150

i've come up with a strategy to cheese the final fights of the trial grounds

your goal is to clear the majority of the stage and pick up as many of the burn (burn 1-3% hp from your opponents for the first few seconds of combat) and stun (stun opponents for the first few seconds of combat) augments as possible

then when you're approaching the end of the stage you can send into combat a single 1 lvl fighter by themselves (with your strongest fighter tethered to them to give them a bit of base hp)

your unit will die instantly when the stun expires but that will burn a good 8-12% off their hp. repeat until they're softened up enough to kill with your remaining strong units without them dying.

this won't work on every fight though, especially ones with healers or instant dmg done to you, but it definitely helps

Been a while since I posted an update.

Currently on 19-20, Floor 217, and I can't beat the boss for Blazing Trial, got close to the end of Abandoned Wastelands, and I got 16 points on the Inverse World's Master Trial.

I'm still going at a pretty good pace. I don't stall too hard anywhere. Currently sitting on my standard squad.

Beast Gief SSS+1
Mad Ryu SS+
Abel SS+
Chun-Li SS

Everyone is 180 except for Mad Ryu, who I got to 195. The issue I'm running into is lack of Breakstones to do the big upgrade for my characters. The slow down on getting tokens for more draws is also stunting my upgrades. Takes forever to level up my top squad now, especially when you're at SS+ you just need more pulls for your characters.

Also, I lucked out and got a Maga Ken in one of my free wish pulls.

so what do yall think?

Cammy or Chun?

Depends on what the rest of your team make up is. I think they're about equal quality. Chun-Li is better if you need a safe long-range fighter still that can just shoot fireballs the whole time. Cammy is good for an assist position and to rack on more damage. She's a bit of a glass cannon though, so if you have another one (like Mad Ryu, for instance), you're probably better off going with Chun-Li.

He supplements combos with further attacks.

I recommend him for going through Guild Operations and Shadaloo City. Just open up combos with him and then he'll attack with everyone else. His additional attacks get ridiculous with the beefy buffs you accumulate.

I didn't find him useful for progressing in the Supreme Fist and Challenge missions though.

Finally got enough Break Stones to upgrade Beast Gief to level 200 and was able to knock out 19-40 finally. Also got Chun-Li to SS+ now. Getting bad luck drawing any of my squad to get them to SSS now though.

God those Break Stones just halt everything though. I'm loaded up on experience and money and I'm only held back by the Break Stones, and they're difficult to come by.

Edit: Beast Gief's upgrade at 181 changes the game though. A lot faster normal attacks. He keeps hitting stuns on folks mid-combo and just stuffing them entirely. It rules and clutches out a lot.

apparently at 13 draws they give you a free Ken, so alot of people are upset they are dangling it and making people want to buy more of those tear things

I hit another wall, I am at 15-1 and around 185 on supreme fist
I actually beat 14-40 using the Beast Gief method because I was desperate but it takes alot out of me to do that, I can't keep doing that

I had 2400 b grade fragments, at least 20 b cards, and around 200 arcade+faction coins

I used about 100 coins

I upgraded Guile to SS+
Elena to SS
Fei Long to SS
Chun Li to S

I have TWO A+ Beast Zangiefs now, if I do several more Wind draws, I could get him to S+. We'll see. I also need one more Chunner too

and fiddled with Limit Break and now everyone is at 169

I got alot done

......except I did not

...I'm STILL stuck LOL I can't pass these levels
