He marked me with the "bad sport" status, so I can only play in lobbies with other "bad sports"... for the next 3 years.

In that lobby is another guy that's stuck in there for 4 years. I can't play with anyone but these people, I was going to play with my brother but now we can't play together.

Rockstar will apparently do nothing. I hate that company, terrible. It's not even possible to get a ban for that long normally, the max is supposed to be 64 days, that should be the only red flag they need to unban me, but no. Terribly coded game, GTAV.

I mean if they don't I will spam support tickets, I don't want to lose my 7 year old account because R* can't hide API endpoints like any sensible developer would

Seriously, my account shouldn't be hacked like this unless R*'s servers are hacked, but for some reason modders just have these permissions locally

Scan your DB for people banned for 3 years, unban them, find the modders responsible and IP ban them. IP ban all VPNs, script kiddies gone. These are dumb bored kids, not a determined organization that can't be stopped. Easy fix!

These are basic things I've set up for websites before, my banning methods were more advanced than this. Bans should spread across IPs and associated accounts like an STD.

If kids want to have fun ruining other people's save games, they should be ready to not play that game anymore. If another person using that IP address gets punished as well, let them argue about it. And you have so many different methods of tracking your users with a locally running desktop app with essentially admin permissions.

I'm not angry that they suffered from an exploit, it's that this has been going on the entire time, nonstop hackers and modders in every lobby.

I've said for years I couldn't even imagine attempting to play GTAO on PC. Everything I've ever seen has made it look like a hellish cesspool.

Why would Rockstar care? They make half a billion a year off of GTA Online.

Less so on console, though. Hacking and modding is a much bigger problem on PC.

Ironically, the same lack of flexibility that people often complain about (when talking about games like Skyrim or Fallout) turns into a positive in some cases (GTA absolutely being one of them).

I'm not sure I've ever seen any YouTuber who plays GTA ever able to enter a public lobby on PC without it almost immediately going to shit. The players may be just as assholish on console, but at least their assholishness is more limited in scope.

supposedly you can randomy get out of low-priority/bad sport by getting Awards, and you have a percentage chance to get out of any length every 3 hours you play without losing a car and there are idle groups to help with this

R* fixed my account, good ending at least

Was just salty because I set aside that time to play GTA with my brother, but we played Raft instead, which is pretty fun
