It's Fire Emblem so if you're a parent to a main character you're never gonna live more than 6 chapters following your appearance.

The only exception I know of to this rule is Eliwood surviving all of Binding Blade despite being Roy's father, but that's probably because his plot armor from being the protagonist of his own prequel game acted as a shield.

Thing is he was incapacitated the entire game and the plot armor thing is only after the fact as Roy was FE6 and he was FE7.

You're right that the plot armor thing doesn't actually matter due to the release order of the two Elibe games. But incapacitated during the story or not, he was still alive and still able to rule as the new leader of the Lycian League once the story was over.

I'd be fine with it if we had a NG+ to carry them over, or to carry over SP/Bond Fragments, or inherited skills...

Just gib NG+ already IS you even gave us achievements ffs ;_;

You technically can't save scum bond ring pulls because resetting the game doesn't change the random numbers used to generate the rings. You have to do a different action that wastes the game's generated random numbers, like doing an arena battle, to change what bond rings you pull.

One additional tip to keep in mind is that which bond rings you pull for any given 10 pull will match up exactly no matter which Emblem's pool of rings you pull from. Here are all of the bond ring pools: https://serenesforest.net/engage/weapons-items/bond-rings/

For example, if you do a 10-pull from Micaiah's pool and you get an A-rank of Sothe (the 1st character in her pool) and an S-rank of Sanaki (the 6th character in her pool), then you reset your game and do a 10-pull from Leif's pool without using up any random numbers, you'll get an A-rank of Nanna (the 1st character in his pool) and an S-rank of Olwen (the 6th character in his pool) because those are what random numbers are lined up for you at that moment. With this in mind, what you want to do to get a really good bond ring is this:

1) Save your game, then do a bond ring 10-pull. Maybe do a couple if you want to make things easier.
2) If you don't get any S-rank rings, then reset your game, do an arena battle to waste some random numbers, save again, then do the 10-pull(s) again.
3) Repeat the above until you get an S-rank ring.
4) If you want an S-rank ring that gives a skill but get one that doesn't give a skill, look in the list of bond rings that I posted above and see if the ring you got is in the same numbered slot as a bond ring for a different emblem that does give a skill. If it is, then reset and do the same 10-pull(s) for that other emblem without wasting any random numbers and you should get the desired bond ring.

I don't know if there's a way to actually manipulate the random numbers to give you the ones you want, but this method at least lets you waste random numbers and look for S-rank rings because just resetting the game by itself doesn't work.

Entering and exiting a Chapter or Paralogue (not skirmishes) completely rerolls the RNs.

Ive played both birthright and conquest but I havent finished either. I think Im gonna play revelations since I frankly just dont have the time to play through all 3 games

I bet it's because of the distance between Alear and the 4 first people you meet, Vander, Clanne and Framme barely get screen time after the first 3 chapters, then in chapter three you get Alfred and his two retainers muscle bow girl and ax man with a head too small for his body neither of the two have anything to say in the story scenes, why they aren't even in the shot, then chapter 4 introduces you to 3 more characters and again only 1 of them matters and appears in the following cutscene, then chapter 5 and it just keeps going. I think it's legit because Engage has too many characters and not enough time to let them cook
