What's the last movie you watched for the first time (even if it didn't just come out)?

The Fall (2006). That shit was amazing. Say what you will about Tarsem Singh, but dude knows how to make beautiful shot compositions.

Even made me cry a little, and I almost never cry in movies.

The Grand Olympics, a documentary on the 1960 Rome Olympics from the Criterion Olympic set. Highlight was Abebe Bikila who broke the world record for running the marathon. Barefoot.

I just watched OG Blade Runner & Goodfellas for the first time ever last year.

I struggle to recall the last new-to-me movie I've seen.

A few years back I began to dig deep into old cinema and watched some fantastic1930s movies and then moved on up chronolgically all the way to the end of the 1970s, watching many Oscar winners along the way, some which are not so well remembered today despite being great movies by their own rights (The Lost Weekend, On the Waterfront, In the Heat of the Night, The Sting, to name a few).
Could be that the the last new-to-new movie I watched was the best picture winner of 1980...

my memory's hazy and i can't really answer this, but i will offer that the last time i went to the movies was for wreck-it ralph b/c friends wanted to see it

The Last Unicorn (1982). It was my girlfriend's favorite movie as a kid. So when I told her I had never seen it, we watched it together.

See How They Run a couple days ago. Period piece murder mystery with loads of tropes, not great, not bad.

The Menu a couple days before that. Surreal commentary on modern consumption, that's not a horror movie until it is. Weird and very good.

Avatar 2. We usually watch rentals at home, but weve been watching Andor. So for me its Avatar even though I almost never go to the theater.

I watched two on Monday - Aftersun and Possessor, the latter in anticipation of watching Infinity Pool tomorrow night.

Soft and Quiet, one of those blumhouse movies oof

A.I. - decided to finally give this a shot. I avoided it for a long time because I heard it was mediocre, but the premise is interesting and I was in the mood for a Spielberg "movie magic" flick. it was solid, but the ending was weird and unsatisfying.
