A social media post by actress Jamie Lee Curtis is stirring a lot of buzz on social media. The famous Hollywood actress posted a few pictures of her office on Instagram, but a particular piece of artwork in her photo's background is getting the lion's share of attention. Hanging on one of the walls of Curtis's office is a large photo of a child who is contorted and laying in what looks like a bin. Other posters have located the art and shared a better view of the picture, and it is apparently a top-down shot of a child sitting in a sort of makeshift pool created out of a plastic storage tub. Green sandals can be seen sitting outside of the tub. The piece is the work of photographer Betsy Schneider, according to Lenscratch.com. Regardless, many social media users were quick to question why that particular art piece was featured in the actress's office, with some calling it "sick" and "creepy."

The National Desk has reached out to Jamie Lee Curtis to give her an opportunity to explain the choice in artwork, why she deleted her post and ask if she had any comments for those posting about her online. Curtis has yet to respond, but this article will be updated if a response Is received.

Yeah I just saw the picture, it definately looks creepy but I'm willing to hear Jamie Lee Curtis out before giving actual judgement.

I was gonna come into this thread kinda snobby figuring that this was just a case of ppl being willfully ignorant about art & history, but yeah, that's a weird picture... Definitely not something I'd want in my office at face value, but I agree to benefit of the doubt. It could contain some personal meaning or idk it could be made by family or smth?

I can't believe the kinds of things people make a big deal out of on the internet.

A friend posted about the artist and the set this is from. It's a photo of a real child. So yeah, creepy as fuck even if the artist was using it to work through childhood trauma.

If a naked teenager in a box makes you horny, that's on you.

I'm thankful she spoke out, but that kind of picture looks like something a mother would take and keep it private in the family, not share it out in the open. I don't know, the more I look at the picture the more unsettling and creepy it gets. It's something that belongs in a scrap or photo album, not something I would want framed up on the wall.

It's a painting. It's not that good. Just not good taste in art, imo. Looks like Gollum in a wash bin back in the garden somewhere or something. Stupid.
