Ah yes, that other stupid US thing. I am not registered to any polling place or party. I just get a government invitation for every election I am eligible to vote in and can then vote at any polling place within a set region.

Situations were a quick show of a card saves time and might even save lives.

That is not identification, that is legitimation. But usually such things can also be used as identification in other situations.

ID's cost money. If you don't drive a car (applicable to many in cities w/ public transit, and people in poverty in general), you might have no reason to spend the money to get one.

If Republicans really cared about having ID for all voters, they'd make state ID's / driver licenses free in their states.
But they don't, because "voter ID" is just a smokescreen for trying to keep poor people from being able to vote. Poll taxes are illegal, as the courts have established repeatedly.

In a hypothetical scenario where everyone has free and accessible ID's available, requiring ID would be fine. If you balk at those conditions, your mask is slipping.

It depends on if they get carded While every place is suppose
Tk card everyone, not everywhere does. Especially if they know you Even if they dont in some cases But might not apply to me, but when I went home, I drank multiple times. Never got carded And I think they use to say if a customer looked over 65, they were fine or something That was years ago, though

You always run the risk of being carded though. I used to laugh at one clerk. If I had a beard he wouldn't card me if I was clean shaven he would. I was in that store like every other day youd think he'd recognize me eventually beard or no beard.

Also I remember being upset when I turned 21 and went to the ABC store and they didnr card me. I was like I coulda been coming here all along? They seem to be the biggest offender of not carding when you'd think they'd be the strictest.

Anyways I'm for voter Id but I agree the less fortunate should have help getting a Id. It's like a lot of issues you can't just make a change and expect it to work smoothly there's always gonna be issued attached to it that will need to be addressed. True. They have the risk. But all that happens if they dont have one is they cant get their alcohol, and buy it somewhere else. Or have someone buy it for them

But yeah IDs should be free Especially if you need them for stuff

Should drivers license doubles as a ID. Regular ID in my state at least looks the same just don't grant driving privileges. I was 28 by the time I got my license my ID worked for everything else just fine.

I know it depends on state, but in NY if you want a non-driver ID, it is free if you are on government assistance, and I think only $10 if you aren't. Looking at Texas (A state I imagine is pushing voter ID), it is $16 every 6 years ($21 every year if you are a sex offender).

Yeah. Regular stuff I know it works for. Thats only because I do have to go to multiple states. But with the porn thing being new, I was wondering about that. I'd just stick to what I have saved on my phone in that state. I don't want my name attached to my porn browsing history. Especially since I'm the kind who will allow my self to get drawn into a rabbit hole where one thing looks interesting so you click it then again and next thing you know your seeing some fucked up shit.

Yeah. I wouldn't want my named attached to my porn searches, either... I do end up clicking from one video to the next, not even knowing how I got to the extreme fetish stuff sometimes... I hope that shit law either stays in Louisiana, or stops existing altogether...

I also tend to just use Google image search so sometimes you get weird shit just cause it shared a keyword. And if it's a gif it's not always showing the fucked up part in the thumbnail

I havent use just straight up Google search for a while Except for very specific stuff But at that point, Im usually skipping past everything except for what I know I want

I mostly prefer gifs cause if I find a good one it's pretty much the good part of a video on constant repeat. I hate with videos if I can't finish at the part that I like and now I'm stuck watching a part that's really not doing it for me.

I do understand that part That said, I feel like with gifs, Id had to do a lot of searching for one that did it for me That said, there probably are some I would like If I have videos, though, I usually have multiple tabs open Haha.

Because I do tend to take posts seriously. It doesn't make any sense to me why someone would take time out of their day to post something insincere. At least with my post it was broken up between the sarcastic part and the genuine part.

You act like Republicans don't fuck over the poor all the time.
There are poor Republicans. Many have proven for decades they'll vote against their own economic interests, and they're outnumbered by poor Democrats.
So by Republican calculus, it's an absolute win to exclude the poor from voting.
And to reiterate my point.... rural poor (overwhelmingly R) are more likely to have driver's licenses b/c you can't go anywhere w/o a car. Urban poor (overwhelmingly D) are far more likely to not have them and rely on buses and other mass transit.

I think statistically the poorer you are the more likely you are to vote Democrat, but that's averaging a lot of demographics and areas
