Are you still living in 2020 like I am?
I haven't gone outside in nearly 3 years.
Society deemed it was no longer necessary for me to go outside or to have any meaningful life.

How should I know? I don't have 2020 vision.

That's a choice you've made.

"Society" didn't deem anything. Everybody went through and continues to cope with the same pandemic conditions as you have. If you choose to be a shut-in, that's on you. Don't blame "society" for your current situation.

kinda, my parents are still pretty much "2020 isolated mode" so I haven't visited them in nearly 3 years.

I just feel guilty thinking of going to visit them when they are not really asking me to come over still.

I am living life normally, in a big city, not even worn a mask in 6+ months and I haven't been sick for a single day.

It makes me sad to think about how much life wasted just worried about being sick.

I'm not entirely back to pre-2020 activity levels or socialization, but I'm still way more active and social than I was during 2020.

And like Far-Queue pointed out, that's less because the world is forcing me to be that way, and more because I just got into a bit of a rut during quarantine and now mostly just use the excuse not to do things I didn't want to do anyway.

Now that I've hit 45 (almost 46), the idea of going to bars, clubs, and the like has sort of lost its appeal. Most of my friends have stopped throwing large parties, but that's because everyone's old now. I'm not going to the movies because Hollywood has decided to stop making movies I actually want to see. I'm not going to concerts because there really aren't any bands I'm that into. And so on.

I still do my grocery shopping in physical stores, occasionally go out to eat, and interact with the world, so I'm not just hiding away entirely.

It is funny because I hang out with friends all the time, but we always do it over Google Hangouts because it is easier that way. That said, I still go out of the house probably 2-3 times a week, and I take a 3 mile walk every day to stay somewhat active.

Go outside and have a meaningful life.

It wasnt until 2022 that we were going outside and doing things again. We moved back to the states and managed to find a decent friend group around the area.

I still wear a mask when I can because I dont like being perceived (and I have asthma cough, but getting an inhaler soon but I dont feel like explaining that a lot) but I think Im around 70% of my old activity levels.
