Damn, I probably shouldve watched Sentai then. Im already 12 episodes in on Netflixs dub so Im kind of committed now. It took me this long to watch season 1 so I guess I can wait longer for season 2.

Oh well, it happens. Both dubs are apparently pretty good anyways. For anyone else who hasn't seen Vinland Saga but is considering watching it dubbed, here's a nice post on Reddit comparing the two dubs and the differences between them so you can decide which one sounds more to your liking:

Watching Lycoris Recoil, on the 3rd episode. This show is pretty good and I'm having a good time with it.

I didn't expect to like Chisato so much but they made her really likeable.

A lot of action in today's Bofuri

I had three anime today (MagiRevo, BOFURI, and Kaina) that all had their most action-packed episodes yet... and then Tomo-chan just gave me comedy and MILFs. Wednesdays are definitely my most packed and most fun anime day this season.

I'll be damned. It's finally happening. Cure Wing is officially going to be the first male main Cure in the history of the Pretty Cure franchise. For a less important but still very interesting first, Cure Butterfly is 18 years old, making her the first main Cure in the franchise who is a legal adult.

Tomo-Chan is so much fun so far. ^_^

Finished Vinland Saga season 1, it was awesome. Definitely one of the better anime I've ever seen, overall.

It's probably going to be quite a while before I watch season 2 though.

Eventually, yeah. Haven't thought about what I'm watching next.

And finished Jujutsu Kaisen (the anime). That was wild. Especially episodes 16-20, but all of them in general. The abilities and attacks were pretty creative and fun, reminded me of Hunter x Hunter in that respect. Even had an obligatory baseball episode.

Gojou and Toudou tied for best boys, with Yuuji very close behind. Fushiguro's hair pisses me off, so he gets ranked low.

Witch best girl. She should be the main girl, tbh.

Haven't talked about it much as it's been airing, but Giant Beasts Of Ars has been a pretty fun fantasy adventure so far.

Welp, the first episode of Sky girls was already better than the entirety of Delicious Party. Maybe Precure rotates good-bad-good-bad every season.

It has in recent memory at least. Hugtto Precure (generally considered one of the very best in the franchise, can't remember if you've watched that one but if you haven't you really should) was 2 years before Healin' Good (the COVID-hindered season that's generally considered one of the worst) and Star Twinkle in between them was also pretty good, so the pattern doesn't hold for the entire franchise's history.

Hugtto is on my to watch list, but my next long series is going to be Heartcatch (which I'll probably start real soon).

Healin' Good wasn't that bad, it wasn't great per se but it at least managed to keep my attention till the end. If it had a different pink cure it probably would've been worse than Splash Star (which was pretty good when it came to the final fight, even if it was just Frieza Saga.)

I agree, I still liked it. Even the "worst" Precure series is still like a 6/10 overall to me.

Heartcatch is definitely one of the best in the franchise, both in my opinion and in the general consensus of the fanbase. It's the first one I ever watched, and while it's not my overall favorite (that would be Hugtto) it's definitely in the top 3. It and Go Princess are very close for second.

It's actually the one that introduced me to Precure, even though it was only the fourth season I watched since I tried to watch all the prior seasons before giving up upon realizing the season after Splash Star was untranslated at the time. Mind you this was right around Pokemon Black and White's release.

It's stories like this that make me glad that I lost interest in anime in like 2004 and didn't get back into it until about a decade later. The period in between that time, when TV anime in the west was slowly dying but legal streaming sites like Crunchyroll weren't around yet and people were relying on DVD's or slow fansubs of questionable quality... I can't even imagine what being an anime fan during that time was like. It sounds like hell.

Watching Witch of Mercury now. Really enjoying it.

The original Futari Wa Precure has actually been on Crunchyroll since like 2009, but that was the only one that was legally available for a long time. The first time any other Precure series aside from Futari Wa was available legally was when Crunchyroll licensed Healin' Good in 2020 midway through its run, and from there they've simulcasted every Precure that's aired since. Kira Kira relied on fansubs while it was airing since it wasn't licensed and added until later on as a backlog addition. Why Crunchyroll did that and why they've only done it for that specific Precure series and no others since still remains a mystery.

The two Glitter Force dubs on Netflix are awful 4kids-esque hackjobs (plus the original subbed versions in full are still not legally available) so I honestly don't even count them. I'd rather just ignore their existence.

Yeah, that definitely sounds awful. I could never deal with that shit. Like I said, I'm glad I spent 2004-2013 focused on other stuff (school, sports, video games, my mental health, etc.) and didn't get back into anime until later on.

I decided to ask this on the Anime OT board as well, but I'm also going to ask this here (for like the fifth time) and hope that somebody answers.

Does the SAO Progressive movie that was released recently have any scenes of gore/dismemberment that I might need to close my eyes for? I really want to watch it soon, but with how bad the Alicization seasons were in regards to stuff like that, I need someone else to check it for me first.

So with Heartcatch being my current long series, went through my list to pick out a new short(er) series to watch as well. Decided to check out the first episode of Ranking of Kings.... annnnnnnnnd suddenly I've already watched the first four episodes. So far this show has been a mix of imaginative, wholesome, and really sad.
