Akiba Maid War's ending was fantastic. 9.5/10, definitely an AOTY candidate up there with Lycoris Recoil and season 3 of Kaguya-sama.

I love how anime just has rooms for all sorts of stuff. I was also a big fan of Lycoris, but I just didn't see the appeal of Akiba nor did I enjoy Kaguya. But I love you had three 9.5's (or at least 9+) for the year.

I think my AOTY is S2 of Made in Abyss.

I like how Shiori Izawa is voicing her since I heard her voice someone in a game I played not too long ago.

Finished Lupin Part V. Awesome series, really loved it. The arcs as well as the episodic episodes were both good. Last arc was a little weaker but not enough to drag the series down at all.

And now I've finished Slime Isekai Season 2 Part 1. That was wild. Definitely wilder than season 1.

Also watched the first episodes of Oniimai and The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady.

Oniimai is degeneracy incarnate and Magical Revolution, well it did a good job at making me pissed off, but in a good way. Looking forward to seeing where they both go.

Not only is it getting an anime, Crunchyroll is hyping it up as one of their biggest shows to the point where it's getting a same-day sub and dub release.

Yep, Sally Amaki is great like that. She's fully bilingual and is going to fully voice Carol in both languages.

I figured that was a risky pick based on the show's tone. I was thinking of waiting for the dub on that one anyways, so if it has moments that would be beyond my gore tolerance, you guys can warn me about them in advance. Or if there's too many of them, I would just not watch it.

Giant Beasts Of Ars and Spy Classroom are two more than I'm kind of concerned might go past that line. Spy Classroom is a light novel adaptation (I could maybe ask on the Anime OT board if no one here reads it) but Giant Beasts is an anime original and nothing has come up in the trailers so far, so I have no way to know aside from taking the risk and watching it.

I don't think they mean the gore things (outside of one or two things over the course of the game, I don't recount all that much beyond the usual stuff like limb dismemberments that would be clear things that would trigger your gore aversion. But there is some still), I think that the main point they're talking about is how downright depressing the game is.

Take it from someone that played the game, outside of ending E...the game starts somewhat rough but hopeful in tone but then rather quickly goes into some extremely bleak situations that gets even bleaker as the game goes on. Like route C just is utterly depressing in tone with no bright spots to pick you back up at and all the characters are made to suffer throughout it. I believe you like upbeat stuff but hate outright depressing stuff, so I thought that this would be good to inform you about as well.

I'm fine with a series being dark and depressing for a while. I loved Madoka Magica and WIXOSS, and those series were full of stuff like that. But if a show is nothing but dark and depressing without any bright spots or an ending that makes things seem a bit better, then I don't think I would like it.

Oh well.

If it's anything to keep in mind, then it may not be a perfect adaption of the game as a whole. Or maybe even go off on it's own tangents by Yoko Taro's will. I looked around a bit and saw that the anime staff working on it left these notes.

So Yoko Taro changed something in it. No clue how small or big said changes are, though knowing Yoko Taro it may not be outside the realm of possibility that this will indeed be changed to be some kind of unexpected happy side-story or alternate plot to the game's story. He's crazy enough to do something like that if he wants lol.

The next Precure series starting next month, the 20th anniversary series, was officially revealed today. The lead Cure being the blue one (it's almost always the pink one) and also being the "girl from another world" rather than a normal human are both firsts in the franchise's long history.

Based on what I've seen so far, I'm really excited for this one.

I see Bebop, but where is Rocksteady?
