Sally Amaki actually plays Carol in both Japanese and English in this anime, which is really impressive. Give both versions a try if you haven't already. The show sounds great either way, but I think I'm gonna stick with the same-day simuldub for this one.

I only went back to watch Carol's scenes in the dub. Tomo was less grating there but I like Misuzu more and Rina Hidaka is always pleasant to listen to.

Funnily enough, it's the complete opposite for me. Tomo is the one character in the main cast whose Japanese voice I prefer, but Jad Saxton's performance as Misuzu is the highlight of the dub for me.

Finished the 2nd half of the 2nd season of slime isekai, so now I'm caught up except for the upcoming movie, and the spin off series. Season 2 was wild. Definitely went through it faster than most series. Rimiru is still best gir-.... best bo-.... best they... Yes. Best Yes.

Bushiroad could make an episode of D4DJ that's just 18 minutes of Rinku eating and 3 minutes of Muni experiencing gay panic and it would be one of the most fun anime episodes of the entire season.

* Demon Slayer

* Eighty-Six
* Fruits Basket (the 2019 remake, ignore the original from 2001)
* Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War
* Lycoris Recoil
* Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle
* Spy x Family

There's the 10 that I'll recommend. They're all from 2019 or later, they're all shows that are generally considered at least pretty good, and they're all shows that I would personally recommend. I tried to include a wide variety of different genres and a mix of some really popular shows and some decently popular but still a bit under the radar ones. Also, BOFURI in particular had its second season just start airing very recently, so you can watch the first season to catch up and then enjoy the second season weekly as it airs.

There are some obviously super popular anime that I didn't mention above (like Chainsaw Man, Jobless Reincarnation, Jujutsu Kaisen, Vinland Saga, etc.) but I can't recommend what I haven't watched. You can also use a site like LiveChart.me to do your own research on what anime have aired recently.

Apparently i have watched a few things because i did see demon slayer (fun), dr stone (fun), love is war (the first half of the first season was great, i didn't like it as much as time went on), and bofuri (great).

Let me make an addendum.

I've only seen s1 of Demon Slayer, not sure about Dr Stone. Love is war i'm done with, after the two MC's softened up to each other the series kinda lost it's appeal for me. Bofuri is something i'll start tonight though

Definitely stepped out of my usual choice of shows with this one, but over the last 3 days binged Toilet Bound Hanako from 2-3 years ago. Wouldn't have typically been on my radar, but my high school friend wanted me to watch it, and well thats how I ended up watching No Game No Life some time ago.

Funny show, sometimes sad, always weird. The main antagonist is a fun little sociopath.

Hanako is a funny little devil and the main girl, well, she's an idiot. A shallow, hopeless romantic cute dork of a moron. With lots of reaction faces.

I am always a fan of the Seven Mysteries of the School trope that this show lived and breathed. Makes me think of Higanbana. It even had my favorite of the classic Mysteries, "The extra stair that you must never step on."

Vinland Saga S2 has started off with a nice slow burn.

Think I'll stick with the Tomo-chan dub going forward. There just aren't enough hours in a day for both and the dub itself has been very very good so far

Is Tomo-Chan good? I haven't paid attention to anything this season beyond Vinland Saga. It seems like a funny premise.

It's been a pretty fun romcom for the first three episodes, though I do think the side characters carry it more than the main duo. There's also (as mentioned) the extra novelty of a same-day simuldub and Sally Amaki voicing Carol in both the Japanese and English versions because she's bilingual. I definitely recommend trying both versions for two episodes to see which one you like more

Plus, apparently the manga is a super popular one that a lot of people have been praying a long time for an adaptation of, and it's short enough that they could possibly adapt all the way to the end of the story in just a single cour. The potential of seeing a manga adaptation actually reach the end of the story instead of giving us a "fuck you go read the source material for the rest" cop-out has me even more excited.

I watched the first 3 episodes. It's cute. ^_^

The slow burn of S2 of Vinland Saga has been really intriguing so far.

I know I've asked this like three times now in previous threads but no one ever answered me so I'm going to ask it again: Does the SAO Progressive movie that was released recently have any scenes of gore/dismemberment that I might need to close my eyes for? I really want to watch it soon, but with how bad the Alicization seasons were in regards to stuff like that, I need someone else to check it for me first.

And while I'm on the subject of gore checks: Has anyone here watched Promare and can remember if there was any gore/dismemberment in that movie? I remember being interested in that movie too but never got around to watching it.

Agreed, was a very resounding "meh" for me. I'd still give the series a 6/10 overall because I enjoyed more than I didn't, but I would call it the second-worst Precure series of the ones that I've seen, only above the COVID-derailed Healin' Good Precure from 2 years ago. I'm glad that Crunchyroll didn't cut out the traditional baton pass cameo from the next series' lead Cure like they did last year though.

I am working my way through season 1 right now. Its pretty good. Though I wonder if I made a mistake by watching the dub as there seem to be multiple dubs with different rights holders. I am watching the Netflix one so I hope I can continue on to season 2 with this same cast.

Crunchyroll's ongoing simuldub of Vinland Saga is using the cast from Sentai's dub, not Netflix's dub. Netflix does have the license for the show still, so they'll probably dub S2 with their cast as well, but it would be a longer wait than if you were watching the show subbed or with the CR/Sentai dub.

Damn, I probably shouldve watched Sentai then. Im already 12 episodes in on Netflixs dub so Im kind of committed now. It took me this long to watch season 1 so I guess I can wait longer for season 2.
