I have the same situation, my birthdays the 27th. Im not a big birthday party guy, so I dont super mind it, and it was alright when I was a kid because it meant a sort of big get together and gifts from family type people I wouldnt otherwise see.

Thats how I saw it as well as a kid. I have an uncle who is pretty loaded with money and he would always give me something nice.

But now its just an exhausting day all around. Especially because parties and gatherings in general just wear me down.

In other news my computer just fucking died lmao. Hopefully its just a wire or a bad battery in the motherboard. Leaning towards a bad wire because my Mother board still lights up when I turn the PSU on. It just shorts when I attempt to turn it on.

Ugh, I am so sorry to hear that. How many y/o is everything? Could be age - I had to replace my PC parts earlier this year. I don't think it's your CMOS battery - have you been having time sync issues lately? (I still am tbh, even with my new build)

No sync issues. And yeah I lurked your tales thread so I saw that you were having issues with your pc too.

Trouble shooting sucks ass. At this point I think its the PSU or the mobo. My PSU is by far my oldest piece, Ive had it for over 10 years. Ill need to do the paper clip test when I get home to check if its that. My mobo is barely a year old but I know those arent exactly built to last and/or are finicky.

Everything else just a maybe 2, 3 years old? I recently upgraded everything except for my GPU and PSU a little over a year ago.

My Q led indicators arent lighting up, which isnt good obviously but that doesnt mean its necessarily a dead mobo but its looking like it at this point. Im going to do some tests when I get home and if all else fails Ill just do a step by step rebuild and try to figure it out that way.

At the very least if I need a new part or two I should be able to find some sales this time of year.

Narrowed it down to my GPU I think. Pretty sure its shorting somewhere.

It boots when its not plugged in and as soon as I plug the cords from the PSU to the GPU it shuts down.

Guess Im in the market for a new GPU.

I suppose it could be the PSU still but everything else powers up fine. Until the GPU is plugged in. I have to assume its a fail safe measure from the PSU just to turn off.

From my experience this year (thanks for following that btw!), I got a new PSU and the GPU still wouldn't boot up, and this sounds a LOT like what I was dealing it. It ended up being the GPU was dead, so I definitely suggest replacing that first. If you've only had it 2-3 years, that sounds mighty short unless you've overclocked it...

I'd love to try Superliminal.

Games from that list I've played:

• Dragon's Dogma - did not play to completion. Looks like a product of its time but also like it could be really good for the right person. If you want an open-world RPG with a ton of exploration and some party members to coordinate alongside your MC, with a ton of hours to move through the world, maybe that's for you.
• Trine 4 - I loved Trine 1 to death. It's a shame I never bothered to finish any of the sequels. But they're all decent puzzle platformers.
• Fury Unleashed - Action platformer roguelite I've heard surprisingly little about considering it's not a half-bad game.
• Paradise Killer - Definitely one of the stranger games I've played. It's an "open world" murder mystery where you roam an island, talking to one of like ten suspects and occasionally finding some kind of clue for yourself. And lots of lots of collectibles scattered throughout the world. The worldbuilding of this game is a trip.

It was the GPU. Sucks because it wasnt even 2 years old. Its up and running again though. Will get codes sent out.

And it wasnt over clocked, not exactly sure why it died one me.
