Right now my biggest one is when a game has allies that do fuck all damage or only there for show. I mean I don't want them over powered or anything, but I don't like it when five allies "attack" a lonely grunt for 10 minutes and do nothing to it.

While I agree I do like that in Gods eater you can have AI allies that can heal you and draw some aggro unlike the one monster hunter game I played.

Anyways forced stealth sections in a non stealth game.

DLC. Just make the full game flat out. Also, remakes that remove things instead of just adding on to. Example is REmake of 1 is a remake done right but remakes of RE2 and 3 are a disservice and RE4 remake is also a disservice because in the original Ada is wearing the red dress and in the remake she'll be wearing a red sweater. As I said, REmake of 1 is a remake done right and there's no excuse to have RE2 and 3 not done like that and there's no excuse to have Ada in a sweater instead of the red dress.

---
I love Lord Jesus, Family Matters (for Steve & Laura which I typed up a beautiful alt from Just One Date episode) and FFIX (for Zidane & Garnet).

Some dlc is fine. As long as the game feels like a complete game without it.

I've been playing Secret of Mana lately and the combat system is totally pissing me off. If an enemy attacks at the same time as you, it doesn't matter that you're level 70 and it's a level 1 rabbite, your attack is cancelled and nothing happens. Charged attacks are worthless because half the time your attack gets overridden by the enemy's attack. And don't even get me started on how enemies become invulnerable while they cast a spell.

Also games don't need to be realistic. You want realism, go outside.

I'm so sick of the looting + crafting that plagues a lot of open world games now. It's all bloat, I'd rather just find arrows than craft them. It's a little better when you craft meaningful stuff, but I'd also rather that just be a reward for completing a special puzzle or dungeon. That shit sucks when you have to get an unusual item to craft it and then most of the time even when you find the right enemy it's a low drop rate anyway

Overly long intro sequences. If I am not playing the game within 10-15 minutes of starting it up, I am going to get bored pretty quickly.

On that note, non-skippable cutscenes. I don't want to watch the same cutscenes my 2nd/3rd/4th time through a game.

Yeah it has to be a good build up to getting the party together and it can't be painfully long especially as an individual character's story.

I feel like this is must-have feature in New Game + rpgs. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 did a good job of allowing the user to fast-track/skip cutscenes.

Some side quests where you have to collect things that are way way out of the way of your main quest.

I like certain games where you can send parties of characters to complete missions/quests if you have leveled them enough and/or are the right class for the quest (Final Fantasy Tactics A2 and Xenoblade Chronicles 2)

this might also be my biggest one, but specifically in musous. it's why age of calamity is utter shit and why three hopes sorta kicks ass. in age of calamity, your allies literally do NOTHING but run to a fight and wait until you tab into them. in three hopes, if you send a bow user into a horde of flying enemies, you will see an enemy drop every few seconds. it's not perfect because i've noticed that the AI is significantly less potent against the map boss, but you can actually just play one character in this game and still get map objectives accomplished

some of the dynasty warriors were better or worse about AI strength (iirc 6 allies could actually solo the map for you?), but none of them felt as good or bad as three hopes or age of calamity

forced tutorials are a nonfactor if implemented right (either one quickskip button you can hold for like a second, or you can mash one button to get thru it fast). but SO many games will either do a very slow noninteractive tutorial or make the button mashing obtuse by requiring different buttons to advance then finish out the tutorial (harvestella)

No. Those are fine. I mean forced tutorials where they make you do something. Like when it wanted me to learn how to equip accessories. And I literally couldnt move my character. It made me pause the game, go to the character screen, and equip before I could exit and move again. If I push any other button, or tried to choose another choice, it would make a sound, or just not work. At that point, they might as well just did it themselves. If its just showing a screen, I wouldnt care

I usually activate it and avoid levelling past 16 or so to farm the base level dragons for the dragon armour and weapons. Getting Smithing to 100 is painfully easy if you know what you're doing.
