My 10 year they did a dinner at the local seafood restaurant. It was basically a Facebook group thing, I just ignored it. I had no desire to meet up with them again.

My 20 year was last year, no idea if they did anything for that, I had long since stopped looking at Facebook.

Skipped my 10 year (why even have one? most people spent half that time if not more still in school!)

Pretty much certain to skip the 20 year one, too. Don't see any point in it.

Next year would mark 10 years which i assume would be the earliest one would be held, but ive no interest in attending. Never saw the point. If it takes a special occasion for me to catch up on your life i clearly do not care about you, the feeling is likely mutual, and i dont know why youd want me to fake otherwise.

Yeah, one tried to steal from me, the only other queer kid in the school and only person I trusted to try to share my gender identity issues with ended up cheating/leaving me for someone else. There's more but I feel I shouldn't say more.

For the most part I was living halfway across the country when they happened. Really not worth spending a couple of thousand dollars to travel for a 2 hour party at a chain pizza restaurant that only 12 people showed up to.

nope, my running team mates on cross country hated me because I talked with a fake country accent and was annoying. They told me to leave and I barely made varsity I feel like a dick now lingering around for four years of highschool. I did it because my dad bought me a 360 to run cross country and track.

Most people other than that did not care about me as side from my class mates because I would fart a lot lol.

I received nothing about my 10 and had had no interest then.

I received an invite to my 20. But... Instead of it being in our hometown, it's in Las Vegas--a more expensive and hotter desert than where we're from. I saw the list of attendees and recognized no one, let alone saw anyone I had cared about from late 99 to mid 03. Suffice to say, I'm not going.

I went to the 20 year as I still live close. It wasn't terribly interesting: only a couple of the people I would have been interested to see were there and they frankly weren't as interesting as I'd hoped. Plus I still see my friends from back then often enough.

My wife is from the same high school class and she didn't go. Only time I've chosen to be social and she didn't, I believe. :)

Skipped my 10th, skipped my 20th. Assuming anyone tries to throw a 30th it should happen in 2025, but I'll skip that one too if it happens. Though at this point they've probably figured out I'm not going so they might not bother even inviting me.

It's not out of any bitterness or hard feelings like some people have where they're like "Oh, I hated high school and I hated all these people back then, I don't want to be reminded of it now!", it's just that I don't care. I had a pretty good high school experience, but I'm apathetic about seeing these people who have spent years basically becoming strangers. I don't care what they're up to now, I don't care to see them again - the only people I care about from high school, I've already made an active attempt to stay in contact with (so I don't need a reunion to see/talk to them). So there's no huge appeal to the idea of a reunion for me.

My one friend went to the 10-year reunion, mostly complained that it cost like $80 cover for bar/meal, and didn't come back with any stories that made me feel like I was super bummed out for missing it or anything. He kind of had a "It was kind of lame and you should have gone so I'd have had someone to hang out with" vibe afterwards, to which my response was basically "We hang out all the time anyway, and being kind of lame was why I didn't want to go in the first place."

I wouldn't even know how to get information about them.

Whoever is organizing it will usually track you down and attempt to contact you with an invitation.

It was harder to do in the old days, but networking today is almost pathetically easy. Odds are if your class is having a reunion, they'll find you unless you were so unliked or so invisible in school that they deliberately avoid looking for you. Or if you're so far off the grid that you've left no trace on the Internet (which is unlikely, considering you spend a lot of time online).

How generic or unique your name is might also play a role. If you're like one-in-a-million unique it'll be a lot easier to find you than if your name is so common that there are dozens of people in your area alone with the same first and last name (meaning they may not be able to distinguish between them and pin down which one you are). That gets way easier if you have a Facebook account, and I know people with super generic names (and no Facebook) who still managed to get tracked down, so even common names aren't a guarantee they won't find you. It probably depends on who is running it and how hard they're bothering to look. And possibly how large your class was (people may be more willing to put in the effort for a class of 100 than they would be for a class of 1000).

It also makes it easier to find you if you haven't moved far away from where you went to school, or if you've stayed in touch with anyone you went to school with, because it leaves a trail for them to follow to find you.

Are you sure it was an invite to your reunion? If you didn't recognize anyone maybe it was actually an invite to someone else's reunion that you got sent by mistake.

Maybe it's in Vegas instead of your hometown because it's actually a reunion for a school in Vegas.

It explicitly was for my school and graduation class, including but not limited going as far as being on classmates.com. The people I did interact with were listed on the class's page, but not in the list of attendees. Keep in mind my graduating class was shy of a thousand people and I didn't interact with a majority of them.

I went to my 10 year a few years back.

I recommend going only if it's convenient and you want a good depressing chuckle. Ours was just a facebook-organized event at a local pub. I'm glad it was informal. It was funny when you start 'catching up' with someone and then partway through the conversation you realize 'oh right, we never really connected lmao'.
