Where do you actually check the affinity? I keep seeing that it's in the stats somewhere but I haven't been able to find it.

Als my characters are level 42 in Chapter 4 and I'm feeling pretty overleveled. How was everyone else looking at this point?

On the Class Selection screen, press ZR, and you'll see this. The affinity rank is the circled letter in the top right corner.

Man Stalker does absolutely bonkers damage if you build it right, Rapid Shot is insane with bleed damage stacking.

I'm having a grand time with this game but one solitary complaint I have is the tank unlocks definitely feel way too spread out. Also there may just straight up not be enough of them. I'm in Chapter 4 and only having three of them that have almost been mastered by the full party at this point is making me wonder if I'm going to have to straight up start tossing out CP. Other than that I've been having a lot of fun with the system. The constant swapping of classes and heroes (for chain attack strategy mix-ups) does a great job of keeping the gameplay fresh and the general systems here are the best they've ever been by quite a lot (not counting X which I haven't played.)

This actually just solved a small problem I had encountered. I just finished the "For Colony 9" quest, and saw a ? pop up, with Kite as the quest starter at the canteen. But I didn't start it right away, because I wanted to see any new NPC dialogue first. I ended removing Zeon at the time, so I could see if he had new dialogue too. But then I saw Kite was also standing in the command room, and after talking to him, I noticed the ? disappeared.

I thought my game was glitching, but then checking out the Hero Details section on a whim, for Zeon it mentioned "with Zeon in the party, do so and so". So I figured maybe I needed to put Zeon back in the party, and lol yeah, the ? popped back up.

So thanks, haha.

Yeah there are hero-specific quests. Im not sure if theyre all obvious (like just in the area where you recruited the hero) or if you could hypothetically have like a Zeon quest in Colony 11 or something checking all of them in every colony seems like it would be a pain!

I'm in Chapter 4 where Mio just punched a Moebius in the face because she's so done with everything.

I guess my protip contribution is that some people's Collectopedia Cards update and I don't think there's any indication they do other than checking periodically. I have mine set to be sorted for "First Time Reward" but every now and then when I check the section of people I've sent items to already they have a different sheet and again reward a big chunk of affinity and another accessory instead of the vastly reduced affinity reward with no accessory.

Oh something that I noticed (as of beginning of Chapter 5) it seems like the Flame Clock was suppressing these people's... natural urges... and now they're starting to feel those kinds of feelings. The Gamma quest for Lanz has Eunie and Sena suddenly feel weird about Lanz stripping, and they don't know why (when we know from the opening that there was no weirdness of men and women bathing together). Also speech bubble dialogue talks about one of the Colony 9 NPCs acting out of character by being more interested in one of the female soldiers all of a sudden.

If this is really a thing, I suppose it'll probably bubble up into a proper romance between Noah and Mio. Maybe all three pairs even. Smashing the Flame Clock giving a lot more freedom than they anticipated!

My honest to God recommendation is to not "explore" that area. You will eventually get a question objective or question mark that take you to almost every single landmass in it over the rest of the game.

Filling out the map for completion's sake is a fool's errand, as ugly as it may look.

Yeah you can tell what each locked class's role will be, so only 5 of the 23 are Defenders. Weird choice. Maybe there's more unlockable ones beyond what's initially visible, though that would probably be post-game. Hopefully the first DLC hero is a Defender.

Same here. I keep trying to find new outfits for the two of them because it's boring to keep them looking the same way but I always come back to them.

In terms of looks, I've got:

Noah: Thaumaturge
Mio: Military Uniform
Eunie: Flash Fencer
Taion: Strategos
Lanz: Heavy Guard
Sena: Incursor/Stalker

Honestly, Eunie, Noah, and Mio have the problem of not having gauntlets which makes some outfits look bad that I would have loved to use them. Like Full Metal Jaguar.

Lost Vanguard and War Medic both do, and neither of them look that great, but yeah, it'd be nice if more classes took on the full look. I think others could've pulled it off better. Strategos looks the best on almost everyone IMO. I like how big the outfit is.

Just hit 100 hours right after getting into Chapter 7.

I don't feel like I've done anything particularly noteable, just did all the sidequests. Heck, I skip all the dialogue for the boring ones. I guess that 120 hour number wasn't being thrown around willy nilly.

I guess it doesn't matter that much because Enel already has a gem crafting video that shows where the materials are for the best level X gems you'll be using in the endgame, but hey maybe I want to get them all to level X at some point

I try to fight at least a few of every new monster I encounter, preferably trying to aim for the lucky or strong variants. It's been enough to stay up to date with most gem upgrades, but I've lagged behind on a few. I need to go back and find a few more quar-monsters.

To be fair I did settle on Flash Fencer for Eunie when I was picking costumes, but changed it backbwcause the colors were all wrong. Game should let you custom color schemes, a lot of outfits are ruined because the party color composition sucks in cutscenes with them.

So far the only outfit I've switched to and stuck with is Martial Artist for Sena.

The only outfit I've stuck with is Mios season pass color. It's pretty much perfect

I like the colors on the flash fencer outfit, the only ones I think are ugly are the medic gunner one (the green really sticks out with the rest of the games color scheme for outfits being pretty muted) and some of the Yumsmith outfits for similar reasons

Nah I just don't like the bare arm look. And they're so few for Eunie that have something on her wrist or have her wrist's covered. I actually want to put Flash fencer on Noah but I'm super weird about not having two characters dress the same.

I really thought I was gonna replace it with Lost Vanguard or Lone Exile.

I just stumbled into Alexandria's ascension quest without paying attention to the level of it, and then I found myself smack dab in the middle of a fight with a level 59 Consul while my team was only level 53. I actually managed to win on a second try, after sitting through three long chain attack sequences. @_@

I gained two levels from it, lol.

The little orb in the center of the field will shoot a projectile at the target of any party member who uses an art inside the field.

Pretty neat ability and it seems like it could be worth running on other classes as a master art since the damage can add up, but it feels really bad on Stalker since they're going to be away from almost the entire rest of the party the vast majority of the time.

It only takes the effect from the 2nd skill so if you're using something like Knockback then I'm assuming it doesn't do anything.

I've at least confirmed that if you fuse a field art with, say, Overfall as a master art, you'll plop down the field and then the enemy you're targeting will get hit by Ether Defense Down. Don't know if it works with Knockback but the easiest way to think of it is you're getting the secondary effects of the art, not the full art and attack.
