Ah, yes. All it took was losing women's rights. Good trade off for at least 50% of us.

The more plausible "4D Chess" argument, that actually has some evidence towards it, is that he worked on some of the bigger stuff behind the scenes but held off to keep Congress able to pass things like the CHIPS Act that needed some GOP votes to pass the filibuster and once he reasoned this Congress was for all intents and purposes over anyway he went ham with stuff like reconciliation/IRA, student debt, and going full Diamond Joe.

I honestly don't know how much or how little to credit him. All I know is if he keeps up his current attitude for the rest of his presidency, I'll happily #mypresident.

Yeah, it's hard to say, but this has definitely been one of the more hopeful/better weeks in quite a while.

Roe's fate was sealed back in 2016. Nothing the Democrats could have done from them on would have prevented it.

But all the new justice's said roe was "precedent". Clearly that only changed after Biden was elected.

It's not a defense. I'm completely against Roe being overturned (and any restrictions whatsoever on abortion, for that matter). I dunno, I think this does seem unfair. The president has zero power over the SC, what does him throwing a public tantrum over it accomplish? What makes what he's doing now effective is that he's actually, you know, doing stuff.

Even best case scenario if he immediately went for that idea the second he became president and it was actually possible, would it have even been able to fully occur before this ruling happened? Just talking about it doesn't really help anything.

Theoretically, I believe so.

Of course you'd have needed the Senate (and House for the initial passage) to have been fully onboard to accomplish it, and fast which... lol... but in theory, I don't see why not.

It sounds like the kind of "Everything would have needed to be absolutely perfect" idea that we may as well be asking why he didn't tap into the Speed Force and run around the Earth counter to its rotation so fast that he turned back time to before Kavanaugh got in.

Obviously it isn't a realistic scenario, I'm just answering your question that technically yeah, it could be done.
