Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Kevin Eastman): I like the dark, stylized everything about this. It's not very good-looking, but I sort of like it. I like this one image of Leonardo on a white horse. I had to look up his name, I only remember Donatello because he does machines.

King of the Hill: A cousin of the 1990s gross cartoons, KotH isn't gross enough to lose many points, so it's just sort of... bland-looking? I like KotH a lot more for its atmosphere than any sort of visual aesthetic. Like, yes, this captures the look of rural Texan towns pretty well, I assume. Not like I've ever been to rural Texas before. Is Khan the most well-known Southeast Asian character in fiction? I legitimately can't think of anyone bigger.

D Tier
Halo Legends: The Duel
Drawn Together: The idea of mixing different animation styles to imply different things about the characters is really good. It generally works pretty well. The problem is that this is just the 2000s gross cartoon, descendant of the 90s. At least its animation isn't so hideous. God, I forgot about this what-if-Link-was-gay character, what a dated joke even in 2004. The Betty Boop girl, though. Talk about dated jokes. It's like if I made a Howdy Doody Show reference today, and Howdy Doody Show references were already dated when they made Back to the Future.
Final Fantasy: Unlimited
Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Legend of the Supermutants: What the hell is with these masks? This is clearly made in Japan instead of the United States, what an odd change to make.
Gorillaz
Goodnight Punpun
Splatoon
Turtles Forever: Bad animation, unimpressive style... It still has the charm of the basic turtles design, but for a franchise with so many iterations, this sure isn't very impressive. I'd say that more than half of TMNT cartoons just don't look good.
Waking Life
Pizza Tower
Nyan~ Neko Sugar Girls
Battle Chasers: Nightwar: This is the ost generic-looking phone game I've ever seen. Is it even a phone game? I have no idea. Completely generic-looking fantasy characters, completely generic-looking battle system. Boring.

World of Final Fantasy: If they used the art style for the main characters on the box, which looks cheap but still okay, it would be fine. Instead, it's all a bunch of Funko pop chibis. It's shocking how much potential Final Fantasy has for crossovers that it just can't seem to realize. I'm sure making a game with like 200 playable characters must be too much, but still. Weird that Firion is on the cover. Firion, of all characters.
Donha Donha
The Simpsons (Tracey Ullman)
Hylics
Hulaing Babies
Idolm@aster: I put this here without realizing I was putting it substantially below Nyan~ Neko Sugar Girls, but I think that's appropriate anyway. Just a sea of generically pretty anime chicks.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the clash of artstyles in TMNT Legend of the Supermutants. Some characters look straight out of the 1987 cartoon while some got anime'd up (both in the 4 turtles' case.)

Also Shredder has the abilty to turn into a giant dragon for some reason.

Just for anyone who didn't already realize this, I'm fine with non-animated stuff, too, as long as it has some kind of distinct visual flair. Warhammer 40K was an example.

Real Life: A lot of Real Life's strengths are in the weirder things you don't get to see often. Like, most of the time you're in a boring city or whatever, and then very rarely you see some kind of horrifying deep sea fish or a bizarre tree that only grows in one region of the world, or something like that. Sunsets are really beautiful and add great atmosphere, but most of the time, it's wasted because the main character is indoors or the current theme of the story has nothing to do with "things ending" or whatever. And don't talk about the backstory. The entire WWII arc is completely counter to everything else, where everything is about moral ambiguity and there not being any real bad guys, and then the Nazis are just outrageously evil, and the arc ends with giant explosions and the American flag being raised. Very poor storytelling.

Watchmen: Perfect encapsulation of that gritty 'what if superheroes were real' tone with the disgusting 1980s. I know that the characters were originally going to be Charleston Comics characters that DC had purchased, and they forced Moore to make his own stand-ins, but I think the designs for the stand-ins are much better than the originals.

The Black Cauldron: Perfectly nails Disney's Renaissance aesthetic while predating it. Some of the characters just look like prototypes for The Little Mermaid. You just can't make anything like this anymore, anything this earnest. The main villain in particular is just a D&D lich. You can't have just a big bad skeleton man anymore. I mean, yeah, Disney has moved away from having traditional villains in general, but back in the day, they were all drag queens or used car salesmen or something. Having a weird, interesting villain is important... I think a lot of the failure of this movie is down to the fact that culture had shifted from the 30s and 50s where just a straight, subversionless story like that can work, and it had nothing else particularly interesting besides some weird dark moments.

Overwatch: I like Overwatch just fine, but it's no TF2 in terms of visual design. Everything is so clean and futuristic, even the "crappy" backstreets look nothing like a real dark alley that you avoid. The characters are distinct in a visual silhouette sense, which is good, but they all have that kind of Pixar saminess to them. In general, I don't really like superheroes, and Overwatch draws a lot from that genre. Add to that a few characters I think really don't work in terms of visual design (Orisa, Junker Queen), and I'd say this is an uneven design system at best.

Hells: I watched the trailer and a clip. I don't know how to describe this kind of animation. Minimal-movement? It's not even thet super detailed kind of minimal animation. I like how even in Hell, the main character still goes to school. The movie's score actually dropped a little when the teacher showed up in the clip; the designs of the demons are pretty good, but a lot of the movements are really ugly. I appreciate Headmaster Hellvis, but his (Japanese) voice sounded nothing like Elvis.

I think this was the first time I'd ever seen a movie that was fully rotoscoped like this? It lends the entire story a crazy unreal aspect, like you're seeing everything from the perspective of a crazy person. It only cost 8.7 million dollars to make, too. I'm impressed by the technical achievement, but I don't really need more of this in my life. It's like if you asked if I liked Hardcore Henry. I guess I did, but I don't really need more first-person films in my life.

Metal Gear Solid: Maybe this will be a controversial choice, but it's my list. I remember someone once describing this series as "military surrealism," and that's probably the best way anyone possibly could. I don't really know if Kojima is some kind of crazy genius or actually kind of dumb, there's evidence both ways, but the series is basically one-of-a-kind. Characters react in the most serious and dramatic ways to things that are inherently silly, people talk at length about barely-related tangents, and there're a ton of obvious themes and messages about violence and war even as they're glorified. The series is sort of at its best when it's being down-to-earth with minimal supernatural elements (MGS1 and 3, really), but it's always at least interesting to look at. Like, the overall atmosphere of the world is always really good, whether it be a snowy military base, an oil rig, a jungle, an Eastern European ciactually no forget that. Anyway, Snake's so at home as a normal guy reacting to weird stuff that his Codec calls in Smash are a million times better than Palutena's guidances. It's true that a lot of the metal gears are actually kind of ugly and bad, and I sort of hate Paz, so this is really a low S/high A, but I'll let it slide into S rank. I actually think Kojima doesn't really understand the appeal of Snake as a character? Because he says things like Snake isn't a real person or something, and clearly thinks Big Boss is the more interesting character, which is just... not correct? I don't see how anyone can take that position? Like, to be clear, this is a flawed series, but the juxtaposition of the normal main characters' grit and willpower versus the increasingly wacky technology is so strong that I think it almost doesn't matter.

Xenoblade: I'm torn how to count this. I'm one of the people who believe that the original Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii had more personality than the later release, but obviously the later release looks much nicer. The overall aesthetic of this world, as natural environments on giant robots that are frozen in an endless ocean, is weird and interesting, but I don't know that I'd say it's especially great. One thing I do like is the noppons; they're a solid cutesy race, maybe even better than moogles. Not a fan of high entia, though. I'm fine with bird people, but I need more bird attributes.

It's very basic fantasy, but it's a remake of something from the 80s, so I guess that's how it goes. But does anyone mind if I switch the subject and ask why they added Faye, a character who was not in the original, and whose only purpose is to lust after the protagonist? Like, her ending is that she never got over his rejection, married another, and never loved him or their children, and just kept thinking about Alm. Like, what the hell is that, why would you add that?

Klaus (2019): Watched the trailer on youtube. I appreciate that the mailman's voice changes to be more echoy when the scene transitions into an interior, that's impressive attention to detail. At 0:32, it plays that same song that's in every movie trailer of the last five years. The animation is okay, not sure what I think of Santa just being big instead of fat, but the idea of all the adults being so cynical that they want to ruin fun for children is hysterical.

Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (2D art): I like the art style itself, but the character designs aren't special on their own, which is what I'd say had FFXII been nominated. That applies to the base game, too -- amazing graphics for a PS2 game, but the world itself is so bleh. I like nu mou, but they aren't playable, it's just humans and bunny humans.
Yu-Gi-Oh!
World of Horror
From Hell
Warhammer Fantasy: Here me out on this one -- even though it has basically the same basic aesthetic as 40K, 40K's sci-finess completely alters everything. 40K gets away from the 'standard sci-fi setting' to become about weird horrible nonsense and giant gothic churches flying through space, whereas Fantasy is still just a normal fantasy, but darker.

Dungeons and Dragons 5e: I would say 2e > 5e > 3e > 4e, with 1e not even counting. 2e has that really classic 80s look to it, while 5e is a little more homogenized? I think it sort of lacks an identity of its own. I realize that D&D is largely responsible for our modern image of a generic fantasy setting, but 5e's art is just so much whateverness.

The Last Unicorn: The animation isn't great, but it's got style for days. It's also the bluest movie I've ever seen? The extreme use of blue constantly pushed into your face really sells the sorrowful tone of the movie, there's really no other kid movie quite like it. The idea of a character who can only feel positive emotions achieving her goals only by feeling sorrow and tragedy is complete genius.
