What is Game of the Month Club?
Game of the Month is a community project open to all B8ers where users share, discover, play and/or discuss a select few games every month. The games featured each month are chosen by YOU the users (and Lady Luck)

The Basics
- Each month will usually feature three games that were chosen via a random drawing from a pool of games that users nominated
- For each game you beat, you get a cool point on our just-for-fun standings as well as a nomination for next month's randomized drawing
- In order to receive the point and nomination, you must beat said game within the calendar month
- If you beat one of the current month's games in the previous month, you can apply for a "recently beaten waiver," but you will only receive a point and no nomination should you do so
- Drawing for next month's games is usually on the 25th
- If you periodically keep us posted on your progress and/or talk about different aspects of the games, then everyone will think you are super awesome!

Nomination Rules
- You get one nomination automatically each month
- You receive additional nominations each month for every featured game that you beat
- Each game you nominate has to be unique from all other nominations and cannot include a game that has already been selected for GotM
- Each game must be a standalone game that can be acquired and played on its own (aka cannot be DLC/expansion that requires the base game)
- Nominations only carry over if you beat a featured game after the drawing for next month's games but before the end of the month
- You have 9 supports you can use throughout the year. Your only limitations are that you can't support your own nomination, and you can only use one support per game per month

I could possibly do all three games.

Into the Breach has been installed for a couple of years, so I will give that a go. I'm not sure how difficult this is, and I seldom actually beat roguelikes, but I beat FTL so maybe I can do this in a month without needing to play every day.

I first beat Westerado in January of 2016, and I only vaguely recall some things including it being rather short, so I re-installed it after the drawing and will probably get through it in the first week or two of this month.

Of the four Klonoa games that I own (Wii remake, 2, Dream Champ Tournament, Empire of Dreams), I want to say that Door to Phantomile (aka Wii remake) was my least favorite. Still, that was nearly 15 years ago, so I would be willing just to try it out again. The problem is motivating me to get my Wii out of basement storage.

I started Maneater and Tunic and failed to finish either in time whoops

Hopefully I fare better with Into the Breach and Klonoa

May give Into the Breach a try, I got that free from Epic at some point.

Klonoa is pretty cute so far. Kind of a shame the two games have a combined trophy list in the PlayStation remakes.

Do you know that a physical copy of the PS1 version of Klonoa is really expensive to buy?

A complete version of the game can cost $500-$550 for the US version.

Basically I'd make a topic that uses a lot of the same rules this one does; one nomination per person, must be a standalone game etc, finish for a just for fun point (on a ranking of people who replayed a game) but instead of needing to choose a new game you must choose one that game of the month already did.

This makes it a "Replay of the Month". The main goal is sometimes you want to nominate a game the club already did, or you don't have a game you wanted to try that won the nomination that month; this can be another thing to do.

Westerado BEATED!

I had played the Flash version back in the day, though I had a lot of technical difficulties. This is just a bigger version of that.

Overall, it was fine but nothing special. There's no one right way to play the game, you can kind of do your own thing. I ended up killing so many outlaws that they eventually stopped attacking me and just ran away, which was kind of funny. No real desire to play it again as another character.

Oh I might have Into the Breach.

Don't usually participate but since I'm already playing Into the Breach since a new update suddenly came out for it after like five years

Had a near-perfect win with the new Bombermechs squad. I could probably count on one hand the number of times I actually detonated one of the walking bombs though, that's very clearly not what their actual purpose is!

Whew, that Extra Vision bonus area was rough. Decided to not try to get all the dreamstones though, that way lies madness.

KCF has beaten Westerado

While I am still not a fan of the finicky weapon swapping and trying to deal with deadly fauna, this was a fun return six and a half years later.

I had to laugh again because the first time that I beat this game, I remember randomly coming across the guy in a town, and I was like, "Is that the asshole who burned my ranch?" Something similarly bizarre happened this time. I was getting closer to nailing down his appearance, but I was trying to do things differently this time, namely siding with the Native Americans. I had just busted open and released the buffalo from Rancher Bell in Clintville, and I was rushing to my horse to run away when I apparently triggered the scene where I discovered the culprit. What are the odds of that happening by pure chance lol?

I still plan on doing Into the Breach and maybe getting around to Klonoa, but I will drop off three noms at least for now:

Pyre is the worst SuperGiant game. Its still pretty good though.

Well I said try, but Into The Breach is pretty much a simple "Hey, I want to beat something easy quickly for a task" when you select Easy. So if you're running low on time, sure, it's good to play on Easy. I'll stop playing on that difficulty now that I did a 4 island run.

I've been slowly making my way through Klonoa. May end up beating it this weekend. I'm moving and the internet company I have to go with wants to schedule a time to come out to install a modem despite how much I've insisted I can walk in, grab the modem, and do it myself... So probably be without internet a few days til they squeeze me in..

Up to 5-1 in Klonoa, although I might replay some levels to get back there with more lives since I lost a few in stupid avoidable deaths.

I too am on Klonoa 5-1.

I like how the levels are set up and that you use the fore & background, it seems pretty unique in that regard... But I dunno, it hasn't really wowed me or done anything to really keep my attention. Usually do like 1 level then am ready to take a break.

Klonoa 6-1. Should have it beaten tonight.

Westerado was kind of an accident? Was trying to collect a bounty, ended up finding the culprit somehow. It's a neat game idea, and fun enough to play, although it isn't something I'd go recommending to people.

Did a bunch of runs of Into the Breach, as usual. Finished a run on normal with all the new squads, and hard on a few of them. Still haven't tried an unfair run. I'm feeling positive on all the new additions, although I'm still not totally sure how to make the Arachnophiles work.

I started Into the Breach on my phone with a borrowed Netflix account. Kind of makes me want to just play the PC version with presumably less fiddly controls, but I love a good puzzle game on my phone.

Started Klonoa tonight. Got to 3-2 and Got stuck after getting the water wheel going, then game over'd. Will probably pick it back up tomorrow night.

I'm on my first run of Into the Breach, and boy was it a struggle getting off the first island. I was at one point down to two power grid nodes, and I lost one of my pilots early and don't know what the difference is between having it be AI or human controlled. I just hope that my actions don't hurt me with whatever carries over between runs.

I also started Into The Breach. Finished the first island without too much difficulty (on Normal).

Not sure if Im feeling it though. Its a lot of staring at the screen trying to find the perfect combination of moves. That first island took me over 2 hours!

I guess Ill push on through this run but not sure Ill have it in me to try multiple times.

Into the Breach beated?

Two island victory on Normal. Im satisfied. This is a good game but its just not for me, as I get analysis paralysis.
