Im Mexican and I love the stereotypes when it's all in good fun. If he's not walking around being an asshole to Mexicans just cause they're mexican, I don't really care about this stuff. It's usually funny to me. And I notice people way more about the culture than me also find it funny when we're stereotyped.

Yesterday, I was watching a youtuber watch a video where a guy walks around and asks people what they listen to. Everytime someone was listening to Spanish music, he'd yelled some spanish words and start salsaing in his chair. That shit was hilarious to me. He looked like he was having a good time and enjoying the culture. Nothing makes me feel like I wanna take those moments away from him.

I feel like people do ignorant shit all the time and justify it by telling themselves it's not in bad faith, but as soon as someone else steps out of line even a little, they immediately villainize that person of having the worst intentions possible. I'm over all this dumb shit tbh.

Everyone else can get irritated by every little thing, Im coolin and just treating everyone with respect.

Plus, nobody goes to TYGA to get cultured lol. If you watch his video and go "Lol. That's all Mexicans!", You're already doomed to your own ignorance way before watching the video. No one is having revelations about life from Tyga's goofy ass. He's just an outlet people plug into to have fun.

When I listen to Sada Baby (gangster rap), it's not cause I want to get in the mood to shoot anyone who looks at me wrong. It's because his shit is suchthe opposite to my life that it gives me an escape to be boisterous along with his music. I feed off the energy of it and it puts me in a good mood. You're not what you listen to or what you find funny. It's just dumb fun for a lot of us.

I think part of the reason hip hop is so popular is because it's an escape from everything being so politically correct these days.

Hip hop and comedy are 2 of the last bastions where political correctness hasn't sucked all the goofy fun out of life for everyone. They're the anti-twitter. If they go, everything becomes like Twitter is. And those people fuckin suck.

The more people from Twitter want to suck all the fun out of life, the more a subset of people like me want to just dumbout and have fun to some ignorant shit. We don't mean any real harm, we're just fun people lol

I say this as someone who defends the use of the term, but armandro likes making topics with latinx in the title to get people riled up. He often does it. It's just cheap bait because he knows a lot of CE rage about it.

Latinkerbell is one Ive heard somewhere recently, presumably due to all the Latinx shenanigans as of late.

Luckily people who love Kendrick are louder than the one's who are mad he uses the F word to prove a point. That's something only someone as respected as Kendrick can pull off. He basically made songs that would seperate people who care about him enough to not want to tear him down for not being politically correct. I imagine when you're that big, you find yourself questioning if people actually love you or just love what you provide them.

One of the hooks is literally him asking if people are actually happy for him. Cluing you in that he gets insecure that the love he's being shown might be conditional and that people don't actually care about him as a person. He wants to seperate the people who actually love him with his album, so he can attempt to figure that out. I don't think people fully understand the mindfuck that fame is.

Yeah, I was like wtf when I first saw it the other day. Like, it's hilarious and is like the crazy local commercials you'd see.

But there's definitely some cultural mocking going on there and I don't feel Tyga should be doing this of all people.

The funny thing is, I covered this in one my post. We always jump to assuming the person has the worst intentions. It's because we've been being trained to do that. I can't tell you how many times I've had to self correct this in my head. Life gets a lot more fun when you start giving people the benefit of the doubt, I promise you. It's not like we're changing the world by pointing to everything and saying that's racist. In fact, it's done the actual opposite and made all the real racists get on defense and start fighting back harder. Because now everything makes their lifestyle feel threatened. Granted, I have no fuckin idea how to navigate this properly either. Im just getting tired of people trying to convince me all softcore ignorance comes from a place of deep hatred. It doesn't. It's just people being dumb and having fun half the time.

I feel in a constant state of confusion when I try too hard and it's fuckin exhausting. I just wanna have fun again. It's not hard to just dieectly ask someone if they actually hate people. It's really easy to tell if they do or not by how they navigate that question

Also, I keep listening to this song for the beat now and I just like it more and more for how stupid and carefree the rest is.

Also the line "She don't need no Photoshop" while dating and having a Kardashian in his video is so god damn funny to me. This dude couldn't be deeply harmful if he tried. He's not self aware enough. It would just end up funny. Most people are laughing at him and not with him. Im just not sure how much he's aware of that.

I don't think there was any malicious intent. However, I haven't seen anything about Tyga relating back to the Hispanic community outside of being from Compton. He's Jamaican and Vietnamese.

So, even though to us it's hilarious as an "inside joke", it does paint a bad picture moreso because it's a video. If he were to write or speak about his experience in Compton with Hispanic people, it would be much different imo.
