There really was no definitive first overall this year imo, I'm not that shocked by how this all panned out so far. Drafts are really such a crap shoot over who actually works out and who doesn't, maybe Habs made the right choice. Maybe Wright tears it up in Seattle, who knows.

I was talkin to my dad about his treatment. He's gotta go back and get a PET Scan in August and more bloodwork then meet with the oncologist. Basically it's to see how it's been progressing and whether or not more treatment is worth it anymore. Scary thought. I know it's terminal but I always pushed that outta my mind and thought maybe this chemo and radiation would shut it down or slow it down.

Someone at work tested positive for COVID, and at one point they did a big uncovered sneeze right in the middle of the floor. Head was angled up and out so it was directly in the air. I think I walked through the germ cloud on my way to do something else, so I might have been infected. Fuck me.

Aside from that I didn't work with her all day, so I'd like to think I'm at low risk. But fuck man.

Last time I was a close contact I had a bit of a meltdown in this thread and said I was going to yell at someone else to hurt their feelings and shit. I'm mostly just resigned to it now, because work stopped having masks out for people to take and everyone else has been getting sick with petty non-COVID illnesses. I lost my cloth mask a while ago too, should have made more of an effort to find it.

And I went out to buy dinner and drinks earlier, too. I doubt I was a huge risk, but still. That's fucked up. I might as well drink these eight pilsners, five ciders and one premixed rum drink on my bedroom floor.

To be honest with you i've kinda forgotten about covid. I had it a day before I was supposed to go to Portland, OR and just felt relieved I got it because of who I was going with and how fucked up the the flights were. Didn't feel bad at all for me. Mild flu type of thing the first day then I just felt fine. Got to work from home for like 10 days and loved the shit out of it.

It's still serious and is killing people so yeah get tested and try not to die.

What kinda fucked up shit is flying from Portland to Dallas then to El Paso? Fuck that. I book all my flights as direct as I can get it. I don't need to bounce around the country all godamn day.

The novelty would probably wear off after the third flight though.

One positive to being quarantined in my room is that it's ice fucking cold in here so my drinks are cold. I'm wearing a jacket and long pants, and the booze is making me warm so that's great. I'm not gonna freeze to death but my drinks are gonna stay cold.

I like to travel and it can be fun but all the rules and regulations... can't fly intoxicated, BITCH there's a bar next to the gate and i'm not flying this thing.

fucking lol. There's some sense to it, like making sure other passengers aren't bothered, but if you're gonna be on a travelling platform for the next few hours at least give some people something to take the edge off.

I've been listening to Greg Proops' podcast - fair warning, it's incredibly leftist and douchey, which I enjoy because I'm a massively douchey lefty - and he's talked about how planes in the 70's had a whole section where you could both buy drinks and smoke. There was a bar and smoking lounge on a fucking airplane. And now you have to take off your shoes at the gate and let a strange man enter your asshole if he so desires, and you can't take a bottle of water or a tube of shampoo onto a plane in case you want to blow it up etc.

Despite being a super liberal dude, Proops makes a great point of asking whether those measures actually make you safer. Because a plane hijacker is gonna hijack a plane. How does letting some TSA grunt stick a finger in your asshole and prevent you from carrying a bottle of shampoo and a drink of water making you any safer?

They do that after every round of chemo. A round for my mom is 3 treatments

This time the doc said the treatment wasn't working as well, since new spots have popped up. So now back to radiation and then I guess they try a different combination of meds in the chemo
