Elden Ring > Horizon > Kirby >TMNT > Pokmon
Still need to play Neon White and Triangle Strategy. The former of which I'll be starting in a day or two. Rogue-likes aren't really my thing, but I did like Hades, so I might give Rogue Legacy 2 a go eventually.

Kir- uh I mean Elden Ring
-It's those and Stranger of Paradise, I think. I've played a fair number of older releases this year.
-Shout out to Vampire Survivors. It's good enough to inspire a stampede of knockoffs.
-Rogue Legacy 2, I will say I didn't like the original and it's much better.
-Pokemon Mythologies: Cryogonal is a very likable flawed game.

Honestly, there were a lot of games I considered for the tenth spot, I ultimately decided to just go with an "Other" option instead.

Games I considered:
Citizen Sleeper, King of Fighters XV, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Lost Ark, Moss: Book II, Nobody Saves the World, Norco, OlliOlli World, Sifu, Total War: Warhammer III, Tunic.

I completely forgot that was this year. This is definitely my pick.

The only 2022 games I have played are Symphony of War: Nephilim Saga and Crystal Project.

Tunic is the most annoying game Ive played since skyward sword.

Both are 10/10 GotY games with poop frosting

All games are great, Elden Ring is just the greatest game ever made.

I don't think I've ever turned on a game as much as I have on horizon: forbidden west.

for the first 8 hours or so I was having fun.

somewhere around the second city I began to see how truly soulless it is, full of mind-numbing tediousness and trinkets. a huge world with no sense of adventure whatsoever. absolutely no meaningful character progression. the worst of AAA open world gaming. elden ring's brilliance only highlights how much of a failure the game is.

Skywalker Saga has spectacular writing. Not something we can say for Elden Ring :P

Only played Arceus but it was a 6/7 game at best so I don't feel comfortable voting for it

I mean I would have voted for it even if it was the only game I played this year if it was a 10/10 game, but it wasn't

only played rogue legacy 2, and the first couple chapters of neon white so far

both very good. but rogue legacy 2 will surely be a top 50 game of all time for me, just a huge improvement over the first in every way, transforming a basic gameplay loop into a full experience with beautiful art, music, story, and an incredibly varied class system.

neon white is great too so far - i'm bad at FPS but the shooting aspect isn't complex and it never feels overwhelming to speedrun, it's all very intuitive and makes you feel awesome.

also started tunic but didn't get too far but it was nice.

Elden Ring, Citizen Sleeper, and NORCO in that order are easily the three best games I've played this year. Admittedly I have a lot to catch up on. Still need to play Tunic, interested in Neon White and Kirby as well.

I think I've only really played Kirby & Rune Factory from this year (plus FFXI and now FFXIV)

RF5 easily takes of those uh 2, but I did legitimately have a great time and for once I even 100% completed the shipping log

Elden Ring so far, but I haven't had a chance to play Tunic/Neon White and others

I think Elden Ring is great, but I definitely wouldn't put it as GOTY in a stronger year

Ive barely played any, but I guess Kirby gets the edge over Shredders Revenge for me.

Oh yeah I also played Luminous Avenger IX 2 and COGEN Sword of Rewind, buth lol at both for being near GOTY level
Although COGEN was pretty fun for a Indie game no one cares or talks about, pretty underrated imo

Also played Arceus but got so bored of it after a while that I didn't finish it. Interesting premise for a Pokemon game, terrible gameplay loop.
