MMOs learned this with drab and decayed zones. Even evil classes as their starting point didn't like them and preferred lush green or mystical surroundings instead. I did however like the clear see-thru phones and electronics. It was neat seeing the guts and clockworks. I usually either go: Red Black White Gold Seafoam Green/Oxidized Copper/Aquamarine (Verdigris) Copper Anything outside of that is rare. I do like Sepia, Dark Amber and other shades of brown a lot some ways too.
