That sounds like a silly takeaway to me.
He's correct though. Benedict always rubbed me the wrong way because his intentions were only ever for house wolffort and those who are directly under their protection.

How does the cycle of war STOP if you simply take control of the salt distribution again?

Even after the Saltiron war there was an attempt to make a cooperative coalition for salt distribution happen and it just led to resentment, the abject oppression of an entire race of people, and scheming of how to get the most power in these systems.

Suppose Serenoa is successful and conquers Aesfrost and Hyzante, how does he maintain peace? He can't be everywhere all the time, he can't ensure that there is freedom and equality everywhere, he won't even be able to ensure the fair and equitable trade of goods between the three different areas even if he is the ruler.

It is a better path than Roland's, but it isn't the "correct" one to me.

Becoming refugees chasing a fairytale because you're unwilling to accept a situation that might require you to deal with some unlikeable people is just absurd to me.

I don't think the perpetual peace you wish for is realistic in any situation or setting and casting aside reasonable compromises in chasing it seems like an, uh, choice someone can make.

And for that matter, even within the countries we saw how there are lords of domains and the like who would fan the flames of war or rebellion if it means they can go up in the world. There's no way Serenoa would be able to get every region controlled by a lesser lord and not have them (or at least their advisors) plotting or abusing their powers. Especially in the face of them being conquered, the people would not all fall in line with that change in leadership.

Benedicts is stupid. It perpetuates a war FOREVER
So does Frederica's ending.

Of the three only Roland's ending has peace.

Frederica's doesn't perpetuate the endless wars, it resigns the region to them and moves elsewhere to enjoy peace there.

Which is great for Frederica and the roselle but sucks for everyone else.

They did it to themselves, and after the generations of abuse on the Roselle I'd say most of the people deserve it. Are you actually obligated to contribute to the wars in order to bring an end to them in your lifetime, knowing that you'd directly be contributing to the suffering of others and would have to condemn your fellow man to toil eternally based on a lie?

If you set up a new Nation elsewhere where there is peace, you can speak with those in Norzelia and allow for immigration.

Benedict's ending is the opposite of that though. The entire fictional Hyzantine religion is destroyed and the roselle are freed from slavery. There's some poverty but no reasonable historian concludes that slavery is better than poverty.

So while they continue to toil, they toil for themselves and knowing the truth.

I wish that Roland's ending wasn't so stupid. I feel like his entire character went waaaay off the rails at that point, and I had really liked him up until that point.

Well lookie who killed Lyla, then Kamsell, freed the Roselle, and then defeated IDORE!

But then Idore used Aelfric to kill himself and Serenoa. T_T

The Era of Salt and Blood rampages through Norzelia as the entire realm is in war as the Source and the salt deposits exchange hands too many times to count. Benedict partners with Gustadolph to destroy Svarog and Hyzante in order to get back the Wolffort Demesne and be the leader of it.

Honestly, pretty good ending. Dunno if I'm gonna play through everything I'd have to do to get the "Golden Path", so likely I will just watch some cut scenes. >_>

I give it an 8.5. Some dodgy writing at times and the true ending seemingly being crazy hard to find naturally puts it back some. The voice acting for the English cast is also not fantastic.

I replayed the game for the different encounter setups more than to see all stories, to be honest.

It's stupid how easy the Kamsell fight is. Just spam lighting from Narve and Ezana on the water to kill everything and paralyze spam all over the place while choke holding the two entrances with some beefy guys.

Granted, I did play it in NG++. People probably wont level both Ezana and Narve in NG. But good thing getting units up to par is incredibly easy due to the exp curve.

The only annoying thing about the golden route is what a fucking easy solution it is to see.

I went Frederica my first playthrough but I was screaming at the switch "just do the obvious thing!!" lol.

Wish it had been a bit more of an impressive moment putting everything together.
