Are you actually obligated to contribute to the wars in order to bring an end to them in your lifetime, knowing that you'd directly be contributing to the suffering of others and would have to condemn your fellow man to toil eternally based on a lie? Benedict's ending is the opposite of that though. The entire fictional Hyzantine religion is destroyed and the roselle are freed from slavery. There's some poverty but no reasonable historian concludes that slavery is better than poverty.
