Sorsley gave us some supplies and funds in exchange for delivering a load of salt that bypasses the Consortium. Erador is pissed we would be asked to do something so unhonorable, though Benedict does rightfully point out that we could accept and simply report his illegal trading back to Hyzante... but we have no idea how Hyzante would respond.

Do we become a silent accomplice, or do we blow the whistle on Sorsley? TO THE SCALES!

Metagaming I don't know what I want to do for this Scales decision. Obviously I wanna blow the whistle on Sorsley, but if I think they are all potentially corrupt then what the heck does it matter?

Then again, if Sorsley is selling black market salt to Aesfrost, what purpose is it being used for? Not to make a lovely meal I would assume. If we report the black market sales, does that mean it does not go to Aesfrost? I think Sorsley is working WITH Aesfrost potentially to set up some sort of major operation. Regardless what I think of Hyzante and whatnot, I can't do anything that would potentially benefit Aesfrost right now. I'm gonna try to go for reporting to Hyzante.

It seems Sorsley's illicit trade has been rumored for quite some time. Minister for Domestic Affairs Kamsell is keenly aware and was in a similar position to us, not necessarily having the proof. Exharme IS moving forward with a plan, so I may have some allies sitting around.

Meanwhile General Avlora tells Cordelia to be an obedient little house mouse and when Cordelia muses about the "freedom" of Aesfrost, Avlora tells her freedom is taken, not given. Be strong and take freedom, or be silent and obey. Hmmmm, intriguing thoughts Avlora. Why do you just sit back and listen to Gustadolph when you are likely stronger? HRRRRMMMMMMMMMMMM

Booker (Sorsley's retainer) attacked up but we fucked him up. We were gonna let him live to testify against Sorsley, but he tried to run so Anna killed his ass right good! Atta girl, you're one of my favorites. Kamsell can't move on Sorsley even with our testimony... yet.

Seems there is a secret ledger that Sorsley kept that should be at an encampment he made. We are gonna sneak in and grab it. We're probably gonna be bad at the sneaking and have to fight I assume. LOL

Well, at this point I'm like 90% certain I know which ending you're going to get because it's the same one I got first.

I kinda love how even people in Hyzante assumed we would move against Sorsley and were banking on it for their own scheming. The game DEFINITELY so far kinda makes it seem like nearly everyone but your own party and House Wolffort are scheming bastards, which I think is gonna be awesome is we find members of our own party are ALSO doing those things.... but who knows.

Woah, maybe the Heirophant is legit. We found the ledger and the Heirophant decided Sorsley must die... and the statue thing just straight up used magic and nuked him.

Woah WTF?! They're giving Serenoa a seat on the Saintly Seven? Can you have a seat if you do not live in the area? But the catch is they want me to surrender the fled Roselle to Hyzante. Fuck no, they can eat a dick.

Spent part of my evening leveling up some others. As of Chapter 11 I have all my characters around 17-18 except for Medina, Piccoletta, Jens, and Lionel.

Honestly I just don't see the purpose of Medina, and I have never used the other 3. XD

Jens completely breaks several maps and is my favorite character in the entire game to use.

Medina is usually considered to be the best character in the game, but I honestly think she only gets really good a decent bit into NG+. Her big claim to fame is that her healing items have extra range, can be used multiple times per turn, heal extra, and restore TP once you have her entire kit unlocked. She's really absurd once you get her going, but she really needs her full kit up and to have basically unlimited healing items to reach her potential.

Lionel is fun but not great, and Picoletta just relies on a single gimmick that's inconsistent. I don't think you're missing out on much from those two.

I'm not giving up the Rosellian people. Fuck that. We would just become another pawn in Hyzante. There is no room to move against anything the Heirophant wants. We would give up everything to basically not have any significant power.

Our strength and what we can do to DEFEND Hyzante will be what we offer; not human lives.

And with that, we kill Silvio FINALLY. Yeah, he let Hyzante know about our "betrayal", but fuck 'em. I'll make enemies of everyone if they're gonna be fucking assholes about things. Don't ask me to betray my people just for your benefit!

Ohhhh fuck! Lady Frederica's mother knew of other deposits of salt! This totally disproves the doctrine of Hyzante! Exharm came to fight us but instead we demand an audience with the Holy One to speak about our discovery. You know, that salt is a naturally occurring element you lying fuckwit.

... ohhhh, so the salt is what they found at the start of the game in the mine. Thus why Aesfrost was so keen to have whatever it was and would then move against Glenbrook. Intriguing.

I do like that even if you lose a fight, when you retry you do keep the experience from your failed fight moving forward. It makes it a little more user friendly.

Oooo, our next choice is actually between three choices. Use the Blast Crystal to destroy the dam and flood the capital, making our attack easy but destroying a lot of stuff. We could use the Blast Crystal to destroy the Aesfrosti ship and cut off their ability to flee... or use it to destroy the bridge between the castle and the city to ensure the safety of the citizens.

Hmmm

Decided to blow the bridge and try to negotiate after knocking off some of their army. I have a feeling that is the best way to show Avlora and Cordelia that we mean no harm to Glenbrook at all.

Got to kill both Thalas and Erika WITH Frederica. ^_^

It was ridiculously satisfying to take those two down. They were so nasty all game long, and finally getting to fight and beat both was great.

Not the easiest fight but it was awesome.

Now doing the ship battle with Avlora. I wish Cordelia was right there with her so we could just stop fighting and talk

Of course Cordelia gets herself skewered to save Avlora. Because nobody ever fucking TALKS TO EACH OTHER!

This decision is the first time I've been really stuck between options.

Return to Wolffort and tell Symon what has been going on - This seems so "meh" that I feel it is a red herring and something terrible will happen if I don't go.

Deal with the Royalists being corrupt - Feels the most important for the stability and the "likely" change of Glenbrook to move away from having lords and whatnot to a more "free" country.

Travel to the Rosellan village and investigate the bandits - Feels again KINDA like a red herring, but I want to protect them if the bandits are backed by Hyzante. Hrmmm

If you're curious, that specific choice affects a playable character that you get.

(No plot spoilers, but if you're curious about who you get on each choice...)

Stay in the capital - Cordelia
Return to House Wolffort - Milo
Investigate the Rosellan village (if you protected the Roselle earlier in the game) - Trish
Investigate the Rosellan village (if you gave up the Roselle earlier in the game) - Travis

So... the subjects of Glenbrook are idiots?

Why else would they have believed Patriatte and then blame Roland for saving their ass? Ugh, there are certain things about the story that just make no sense.

Then again, when you look at the US, maybe I give people too much credit. >.>

So it seems that Symon was murdered by an assassin sent by Patriatte. Also, seems that Serenoa is actually the son of King Regna, not Symon? I'm just gonna keep that secret. Unless I (Serenoa) can instill true democracy into Glenbrooke, kinda don't care about being a monarch.

Meanwhile it seems that salt is kinda everywhere in Norzelia and Hyzante keeps it all a secret to keep power. Hell, the statue of the Goddess is built AROUND a pillar of salt that would expose their secrets.

Fuckin... everyone seems to want to just make Serenoa their little bitch. Hyzante, Aesfrost. I mean, at least Glenbrook has some form of respect for House Wolffort.

I feel like the game is trying to maneuver Serenoa to become the ruler of the entire continent. Lol

It's not. It's pretty much the worst ending in the game. the oppression of hyzante becomes even worse they start sending hererics to the source as well not just roselle.

Roland is a fool and I would never pick his vision. Benedict would basically want us to continue to fight a war to control salt forever. Like dude... I get it, I'm awesome. I would make an amazing king for all of Norzelia. But take a look at what happened to Glenbrook. One fucking moron gets into power and pooof, it is all gone and more people suffer.

Gonna make a country elsewhere that is all about peace. Hyzante and Aesfrost are going to use their weapons of mass destruction to kill LOTS of people, how about it not people from my own demesne?

Benedict's route is the only one that isn't stupid, IMO.

You took the ending I took, for the same basic reasons. Either be a pawn of the religious sect and condone slavery while betraying any legacy you may have inherited, or work with the group that instigated the war and is fine using bombardments as necessary to win even if it harms civilians. Basically leaves you with two options, saying f this and leaving with your wife or using a guide to make sure you get the 4th route.

Benedicts is stupid. It perpetuates a war FOREVER since his whole argument is might is right, but it's OK since a member of House Wolffort is the one who wins.

Yeah he tosses in a line about how as the ruler of the area I can make whatever laws I want, but that is only if I hold onto power with an iron fist. Hell, Hyzante only did what they did to the Roselle to ensure they had power.

Would myself or another member of House Wolffort make another choice like that later down the line to ensure peace? There is no peace, just scheming and the creation of more powerful weapons until we all kill each other.
