Just made it to the first "Vote". I convinced everyone to go to Hyzante.

Have no idea if that is the right way to go or not. I just think those Aefrost twins were assholes and I don't want Fredrica to have to deal with that shit.

The difference in that first vote was which character you get, basically. The better one is in the route you went with.

Cool. Plus I'm getting some "FFT" vibes from Hyzante. We gonna have some religious intrigue and bullshit going on that I wanna get to the root of.

So "The Goddess" decides kinda everything? Not exactly equal when it is the Goddess and whoever is speaking for her deciding what equality IS.

If you go to Aesfrost you get a decent character.

If you go to Hyzante you get one of the most broken characters in the game.

Nice! Hope you enjoy the journey Jeff. Fantastic game. It really had me second guessing my choices throughout the campaign.

Plinius or whatever has a point. He shouldn't be told by some Goddess what to do... and having freedom in his research? Seems normal for a FREE SOCIETY.

Corentin seems like a good dude. He knew what Plinius was planning but didn't go with them nor did he turn them in. He also doesn't hate on my wife and is really interested in her fire magic!

And just like that, the doctor who would be ice mage is part of our ranks!

True enough. I like the dichotomy of the countries in this.

Aefrost - Meritocracy, but it goes as far as (likely) murdering those who prove more skilled than yourself to assure your position. Also just a lot of proving yourself worthy will be fucking over others.

Hyzante - You aren't wont for anything so long as you do exactly what you are told to by "The Goddess", AKA one guy who is the only one who can speak for the Goddess.

Glenbrook - Generally kinda free depending on who your lord is and what THEY want. Rulers seem pretty decent so far but that can obviously change with the flick of a switch. Lots of focus on class and station as opposed to merit or general equality.

I love how the creation of explosives is a huge part of the plot when Hyzante has walls that have apparently never been breached. >_>

I mostly use Narve as a healer with the occasional thunder spell

IIRC Narve's paralyze chance on his thunder magic caps out at 30% if you're appropiately leveled, whereas Ezana has 60%.

He's not the best damage dealer, but his versatility is great. Especially since he unlocks so early. It gives you access to elements you otherwise wouldn't have yet.

It's precisely because Narve is so versatile that he can go into any team without issue though, I'd say he's the best mage unit in all but map specific circumstances that regard. But because he can take advantage of all weather types and so on, he's still extremely useful.

Hell yeah!

Good people lost houses, but we never lost sight of our ideals and the strength we have as people! The same strength that saw us do what is RIGHT. Not because it is easy but because it is right. Avlora fled, tail between her legs, and Roland stayed with us!

Playing docked right now so it didn't break. Buckled a bit, but did OK.

FYI it's basically hell to win that fight without burning the houses in a first playthrough. In a ng+ though it lets you get some nifty items each chapter though, since they still show up if the house is able to be entered.

I feel like I would have had to power level the shit out of it and made most of the game trivial after that point. She was level 15 and my crew was like, 10.

They give you A LOT of characters to use. Never a problem I suppose but almost gives you choice paralysis.

On my first playthrough, I decided to beat Avlora without burning the houses. It took several retries and even when I won, I only had 2 people alive by the end lol. Definitely a hard fight.

The most dangerous mindset you can put yourself in is "I'll just stick with the starting party and never experiment"

It really makes the game signficiantly more boring to play, but it's so easy to fall into the trap.

Not that you can, exp is based off the level of the fight and if you're too much over it you get 1 exp per action so that takes forever even just for one character.

The Scales shall be used once more as Lord Silvio has come to our demesne with a proposal to have the Three High Houses join together to fight the duchy!? But he wants me to come to Telliore to unite under a single banner.

Strategically we've kinda blown out our big secret weapon in defending the major assault. Our position is defensible but we won't have that advantage again. Telliore is not a martially powerful house... so why ask for this?

Bleh, not sure what I want to do. XD

It's so intricate a decision. Metagaming I have a feeling it doesn't matter too much overall, but like... what would I want to do? Telliore basically did what Benedict told me to do, which is protect the people of his domain. It is kinda harsh of me to be pissed off he didn't come to help when my top advisor told me to give Roland back.

Is Telliore gonna try to give back Roland to save HIS domain? Or is he serious about wanting us to work together? Also I don't think it is right to make this decision without the other High House.

We have accepted Silvio's proposal. I would rather the hope of an ally and keep a close eye on an adversary as compared to just saying no and waiting for the allies to crumble or just outright join Aesfrost.

Bah, seems Silvio did plan to screw me over after all. LAME!

Our crew found out about Silvio's treachery. Benedict seems to believe that had we said no, we would have been attacked outright, so at least this gives us time to think of what to do next. Seems we are going to the banquet and pretending to get drunk so as to be prepared for the battle. Maybe we take over Silvio's territory from him?

Survived the plot, though Silvio and his hired hand Rufus escaped. He is still defiant and being a piece of shit about... well, being a piece of shit.

Also one of those jerks from Hyzante is planning to put us under his thumb. My goodness is everyone gonna turn on us?

Note - I'm calling it right now that Avlora is gonna pull a Beatrix (FF9 spoilers there) and either join us or die turning against Aesfrost

You really need to read through this topic after finishing your first or second playthrough with a different routing for the scales
