Hasn't there been a better way to handle repeated tiebreakers developed yet...?

Was there supposed to be a check of unique voters across both matches? I think I recall reading that in the rules but the old topic is gone now.

I suggest disqualifying both and advancing a song chosen randomly from the remaining noms.

Actually it looks like the full rules post said this:

Winners advance, losers are out, ties get re-run, and double tiebreaks will be decided by combining unique voters across all three matches should a tie not be resolved by that point.

(This match has only had 1 tiebreak and the one occurring tomorrow will be the 2nd)

What if the number of unique voters is also a tie?

If we can somehow force a tiebreaker match to have an odd number of voters, that would resolve a tie pretty quickly!

In response to increasing frustration in the community regarding ties, going forward any match that ties more than once will have an extension to voting time in the third match by 24 hours. Voting will still be counted only in the original thread and not in a new days thread, however there should be some indication in the new thread that a match is still open.

I do know we had a differing situation in the rules post, but going back through convos with Tox I actually couldn't find any discussion as to why that was what we ended up putting there because I really, really don't like the unique voter total thing for some reason. So I'm thinking it was a placeholder, and I'd rather go with as announced here instead. Sorry for the confusion for those that remembered that from the initial announcement thread!!

I am happy for JFK Cadence! In addition to being awesome, it is my first retiree to survive R1 and I can thus breathe a sigh of relief.

Sad for The Road though, it deserved much better than that. And oof poor Snow.

Woo, what a Heretic comeback!

I honestly thought all the hype from select people about The Chase was precisely that. It's an okay song, but I don't really "get" it. I figured Guacamelee had to be favored there...not getting blown out more than 1.5 to 1. (That match was at least close when I looked earlier...)

The Chase was my 2nd least favorite song of the day that happened to get paired against my least favorite >.>

I might be alone in that but idk; I also though the song was only okay.

I've gotta say... Bracket D is the strongest bracket I've ever seen in VGMC. Ever. Thirty-two tracks are rated an 8.5 or higher. Sixteen are rated a 9.0+. What a shame my second favorite in the bracket had to face Rock Castle so early, because that one could be my second favorite in the whole contest! (or even my #1, because I'm not entirely sure I like Rock Castle more than it!)

surprised and glad for highland fields, or grass ruins i should say, since i didn't think that really had what it took to win there. also very sorry to wretched automatons, it's a song that i feel it's fair to say even with this result has proven itself as a worthy song of the original nier soundtrack that people can actually acknowledge here now, regardless of how much further desire goes (or doesn't), since i think it's pretty clear that praise was going to both songs in that match. maybe i'm biased who knows lol

I tend to agree but Colony Collapse Disorder is something of a special case...

Accelerate ~ Night City is probably the song I wanted to win most though.

the switch was unfortunate and probably should've just been an abstain, though if every person who seemed relatively indecisive had done that, i think the result was roughly the same anyway? (nvm my mistake it was like 7-6 (and 1 abstain) on "close votes" so that actually did decide it >_>)
