It's a ridiculous waste of money by a guy who has more money than anyone should ever have and can therefore waste it with reckless abandon. It's nothing more than a vanity project. If he were actually interested in doing good with that money, he could single-handedly house every single homeless person in the country for 2-3 years, which is a much, much bigger deal than unbanning a couple Nazis from Twitter.

The racists and pedos not only didn't leave, but they were protected. You regularly have people calling for genocide on Twitter -- including terrorist groups like Hamas -- and Hollywood celebs talking about their desire for children. Which, by the way, is the result of the censorship being purely politically motivated rather than content motivated.

Whether you like it or not, those still fall under the blanket of free speech. That's kinda the point. You have to take the good with the bad. People seem to forget this way too easily.

The details of why are technical and keep it out of reach of your average musk fan, but just because something is boring doesn't make it untrue.

One more note on Elon Musk, he was once tasked with designing a robot to get some Thai boys stuck in a cave out. His design was like a submarine and the leader of the operation said it wouldn't work because it would get stuck in the bends. Elon Musk called him a pedophile. They got the boys out themselves.

If he sold his shares he would be guilty of fraud due to how overvalued his stock is. See, the man is the richest man in the world in terms of monopoly money.

Which is not all that uncommon, actually. If you count cryptocurrencies, the ultimate monopoly money, there are already trillionares and some of them are in their 20s, living happily off of all the money they stole.

the Hyperloop exists and works, everyone knows a space elevator can't work, reusable rockets work just fine, mars colonization is possible eventually, personal robot assistants literally have existed for years, electric trucks also exist, solar roof tiles have existed since before you were born
