I've been holding this one back for a while as I expect the results to be... decisive. But here we are, single stage water day! Basculin is here as we weren't counting Hisui originally so I didn't put it in the other fish poll, and Qwilfish in this form doesn't evolve. Phione doesn't evolve either and its mythical status is questionable at best so I've put it here but not Manaphy. We've already done Wishiwashi in the multiple forms poll, and Cramorant was in with the fliers. Don't ask me why Luvdisc doesn't evolve into Alomomola!

This isn't Gen 1 bias. It's that Lapras is awesome, and the others range from "oh yeah that thing exists" to one of the most worthless Pokemon of all time in Luvdisc (that's the only reason it's memorable). Alomomola is what Luvdisc should've been, and it's not even that much better!

Lapras is so far ahead of the rest of these yeah. Pyukumuku is easily the 2nd best as well so that's who I'll vote for.

A mediocre bunch. Not even a huge fan of Lapras but it's fine and takes this easily

Correct, that is the problem that needs to be fixed.

Lapras and Pyukumuku are cool, the rest is kinda there.

Lapras is amazing and the rest are okay. Voted Qwilfish because it's the next best. Phione is one of the single most pointless Pokmon ever. I do not understand why it exists, more so even than stuff like Mime Jr or Smoochum.

Also now that I think about it I actually really like Pyukumuku in concept. I just have zero reason to have any attachment to it.

...and that's not because I love Lapras. I mean, it's pretty great, but it's more that the rest just suck.

I mean even as an underdog voter there's nothing here that even comes remotely close to the majesty of Lapras.

I have a soft spot for Alomamola even if it interrupted my shiny Clauncher hunt by being shiny itself.

Its surprisingly nice for a cleric!

But Lapras is just... too good, and somehow got even better in SwSh.

Well this is going pretty much as expected. I thought about removing Lapras beforehand under a gigantamaxable clause to make this a battle on level footing, but that'd just leave a bunch of pokemon that very few people care about.

FWIW I voted Pyukumuku, that thing is adorable in Snap and I've never felt an attachment to Lapras, iconic as it may be.

It looks like Gliscor and Honchkrow would've tied without the stuffer? That's a fine result.

We can go back to write-in voting. Also, Pyukumuku is adorable and its color scheme is neat. Also quite interesting gameplay-wise.

I never liked Lapras all that much. Went with Qwilfish.

Alomola and Basculin are both in the 'I forget these things are even in the game because they look exactly the same as about 50 other generic fish Pokemon' category.

Bruxish is at least memorable because of how terrifyingly ugly it is.

Phione is just kind of unmemorable for reason.

Qwilfish, Luvdisc, and Pyukumuku are all fine.

Lapra is by FAR the best designed and most memorable of them all here, though.

This is a very weak group, so I'm not surprised at this performance from Lapras.

I voted Qwilfish but these are all fine. I'm fine with a world populated by many fish that are not all individually super interesting.

Pyukumyuku and Qwilfish are what I was split between so them fighting for 2nd makes sense.

Lapras isn't bad but I'm a hipster, I could literally never vote for it.

Yeah it's just difficult because in this case (and the previous case) we would've had a really tight matchup for first without the blatant stuffing. I'll mark Gliscor/Honchkrow as a tie.

Ha, I had considered making this a 'single stage fish pokemon' poll too to remove the Lapras dominance, but then Pyukumuku would be left out in the cold! And again we'd be left with a poll where most people don't give a damn about any of the entries.
