Yes. But in a I believe there is purpose to the universe that may simply be scientific rather than a traditional religious sense

Uhh I kinda feel I'm a little spiritual but the implication of that word might be stronger than what I actually am, but I voted that.

Basically I think there are things we don't understand that could be theoretically be explained by some spiritual forces or by auras, energy, vibrations, whatever. But it could also be completely scientific as plum was saying.

I also think most traditional religion I find in the United States without digging is nonsense that is just a form of control and/or fundraising so it's kinda off the table.

But if I really felt lost in life I do think digging into religions would be something I'd do. No doubt. It's definitely possible some religion out there sounds more right than most of the stuff I've come across in Catholicism, Christianity, Mormonism, Jehovah's Witness stuff etc etc-- like what little I know of eastern religions like Buddhism and Taoism definitely interests me, but I can't really say I've delved into it enough to have an informed opinion.

I don't think I ever really had an epiphany moment, it's just like by 5-6th grade I just didn't really take any of it seriously (atheist, I don't even feel any need to humour my faith as agnostic).... then I was the only one in my grade 8 catholic school to not go through Confirmation and I went to public school after that *shrug*

my family were never really church-goers, at least since divorce... I think before then there were special occasions only we went, like Christmas mass

Mmm, no... I mean I'm not but... I think about the concept. I don't believe it's really possible for humans to know for sure without extraordinary circumstances. And I see the value in, for instance, religious traditions that unite families and pass down cultural ideas.

Depends on your definition of religious. I'm an athiest but also identify with Judaism pretty strongly in an ethnic/cultural sense.

I think it is irrational to stake a claim to knowledge that can not be backed up by experimental means. It is perfectly fine to have an opinion about something, but religion, if left unchecked, often takes it to a point where not sharing that opinion can have life-altering or deadly consequences.

Religion can certainly preach some good morals, but any good morals worth preaching about can be done secularly as well.

Thanks for sharing, folks.

Me personally I was raised muslim but it was really difficult when I realized that I'm gay and yeah the two just don't mix (especially not here). I personally think that it's impossible to know what happens for sure when we die, but especially since the thought of just not having consciousness ever again is scary and hard to fathom. So I mostly consider myself agnostic.

Agnostic but I like believing in some form of undefined higher power. Maybe aliens or something. Probably not the Christian God or any other kind of God(s) we've defined on earth. I guess I'd be an agnostic theist? But that might be too strong of a definition too so pretty much what Lopen said lol
