I was looking up The Batman tickets and saw it listed still in theaters, and I forgot it had came out. Apparently it made almost $300 million so it wasn't a total flop.

It was a fine movie about Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg going on an adventure. As long as you can get past the fact that they weren't really playing it as Nathan Drake and Sully then it's a reasonably good time.

I've seen a Mark Wahlberg movie before so I feel like I have the gist already.

Also the paint is faded and chipped

Its a 'fine' popcorn action movie, overall. Nothing special. If they said it was more 'inspired by Uncharted' or something I would probably give it more of a pass.

This is literally almost every video game movie ever made

I liked it.

If you tell yourself that it's not any sort of retelling of an existing story and that it's more of an origin story that stands alone, then you won't be disappointed with it I think. Tom Holland is okay in the role; I think he just has to grow into it by aging (if they make this a film series, and it's turned a decent profit so that's possible). I actually think Wahlberg is pretty good here as Sully also; they share a pretty good chemistry together on screen. The story is pretty standard and nothing special, but it's shot pretty well and has some fun physics defying action scenes that reminded me of Pirates of the Caribbean. As a fan of that, I appreciate this movie more than I thought I would when I heard Tom Holland had been cast as Nathan Drake.

This is my take, as well. I honestly think Wahlberg actually makes a better young Sully than Holland does a young Drake, but Holland's not bad or anything. If you go in expecting a new, origin-based story instead of something blatantly targeting a retelling of the games, it's a decent enough time. It's no Sonic or Detective Pikachu, but it's pretty alright.

I don't watch Mark Wahlberg movies.

I've been considering it but haven't been able to convince myself to actually put in the time to see what I know will ultimately let me down

I liked it but I didn't like the video games so probably not a faithful adaptation

Does it have slight supernatural elements like the first three games?

Ended up seeing it last night

it was fine, definitely had a few good moments in there

Tom Holland is Tom Holland and not Nathan Drake

Wahlburg did a good job and acting like Sully though despite not really looking like him

Appreciated the Nolan North cameo

The most unrealistic part of this is a Drake didn't kill nearly enough people though!

Also the post-credits scene was probably the most Uncharted feeling moment in the whole movie

Wahlberg was more like Sully than Holland was like Drake... But only just.

It was fun. Definitely an "alternative universe" take on the characters, since none of them really match the games that closely, and it could get pretty dumb at times, but it was an enjoyable movie all in all. Good popcorn flick.

The Nolan North cameo was excellent.

The final action sequence with the flying pirate ship battle felt like a classic bonkers Uncharted action sequence, and I really liked that.
