I have been using spellcasting catalyst in off-hand this entire game and...I just figured out you can cast spells on horseback (or equip your off-hand item) by trying to two-hand.

I am 100 hours into the game.

I'm going to scream

okay so let me get this straight regarding summoning

I have to use the Furlcalling Finger Remedy to summon allies to my game and the Tarnished Furled Finger summons me to their game? Is that right? So I can't really just summon people whenever I want? Oh but I have a shitton of the thing needed to craft these, so I can make like 50 more right now if that is the case.

The timing on dodges is really fucking beginning to annoy me

The fact that each attack from Radahn kills me in no time flat is also annoying

Am I like defense-lowered while on a horse???

this is where the real fun begins, right

I had a miserable time in Raya Lucaria last night.

Did the whole rooftop section after the first boss, eventually getting up to about 15,000 runes which I lose because I thought there might be a way out after the shortcut to the first church but it turned out to be a dead end with a very powerful enemy and an item. Then it dawned on me that this entire area was just an optional loop to the start and Id mostly wasted my time. At least I got enough golden runes that I could still level up along with some other items.

Hopefully will beat this place today!

Also how the hell do I avoid everyone dying to Radahns meteor re-entry
This fight is pure RNG

You sure you're not under leveled? Go do Altus Plateau if you're struggling with him. I was level 95 when I did him and didn't have much trouble.

I am level 70
But even with the Rune Arc he just instakills me with any of his blades attacks
I feel like I should be at the right level, or is he not the third superboss?

Its also those fucking meteor rocks that have no warning at all for when they go off

I can get to phase 2 easily, but sometimes the meteor just homes in on me or the summon signs dont spawn until I am already dying

He's the toughest boss in the regular game (as in not counting endgame bosses) so he will continue to cause you trouble until you either a) go elsewhere to get stronger and come back or b) bash your face against him for an hour or so to learn his moves and eventually it might click.

What's your vigor at? I recommend you get it to at least 30.

Its just that I feel I am close enough to do it with the help of the summons.

Get on your horse and run the fuck away from the NPC summons when his giant meteor comes down, generally it will miss you that way

You can definitely learn his blade attacks enough to dodge them, I found that being closer to him actually helps for a bunch of his attacks. Obviously easier said than done and he still has some mix ups that are hard to dodge but it's doable, just intense

Eh I am gonna level up Vigor first, just to see if I can tank the meteors in phase2 that way.
That's the only thing I havent found an answer for yet.

Maybe than the fucking bears dont kill me in one lunge either (while breaking my stance mind you)

Yeah that was in the previous topic. And as a long range caster sure vigor might not be as important if you know how to keep your distance. However there are some enemies, many bosses, who know how to close the distance between you and them in a blink. Much more prevalent than previous games (magic has always been the OP path) which is why vigor is more important than ever before.

I can't count how many times I've taken damage from offscreen enemies in my playthough.

Oh but even with 30 vigor that meteor will still one shot you. Running away with torrent is the only way to avoid it.

Some of the attacks in this game one shot you for no fucking reason. Other than just 'cause.

Something that helped me with Radahn was to make sure and set a waypoint for the general area where all the summon signs are, is that when your summons start dying and you need to resummon them you can find that more easily.

The only summons that aren't pretty close are Patches, who is worthless to summon anyways, and the Maiden, who is in a pretty unique spot that's easy to find once you've reorientated yourself.

I also feel like some summon signs disappear or reappear for some characters if you missed them or already got them.
No clue where the maiden is normally, I just usually run towards Radahn and collect the 6 summons on the way (damnit Patches)

I kinda wish armor was more plentiful in this game. Its one of the few complains I have about it. Im 20+ hours in, have a ton of weapon variety, but I feel like Ive found barely any armor. Im still issuing the Godrick Soldier set I found in hour 1.

You can buy armor sets for basically every humanoid main boss you beat from the old lady next to the Two Fingers in Roundtable Hold.

Yeah I didn't find it until late in the game too, and she had like a dozen full armor sets for purchase.

I was wearing the big hat fat onion knight armor for like half the game lol.

You can get some cool armor from the volcano manor quest as well.

It does feel like theres not enough armor in the early game though.

I've noticed that sometimes I randomly get the Gold Pickled Fowl's Foot effect. What's up with that?

Leaves rain down from the Erdtree occasionally as a weather effect, gives you the buff throughout.

It can happen even if you're underground or in building so it's not always obvious that's the reason.

Comet Azur is the end all be all.

Well yeah obviously if you show up with 60 int and endgame spells you can blow him up but a sorcerer trying to do Radahn early probably already has access to Greatbow.

You can get Comet Azur from the start.

Granted yeah he wouldn't be able to use it now.

Could gain some more levels and reallocate to 60 int just for some Radahn cheese, then revert back to original stats.

I wish alter garments did more then like, remove one piece of clothing from the original outfit lol. I'm not sure if I'd rather just not have alter garments at all with it being this limited, at least without it at all it wouldn't be a tease

Huh, I don't think I've ever accidentally dismounted.

You know you can remap the controls, right? I mapped dash to L2.

oohhhhhh that explains so much! I sometimes find myself accidentally dismounting and couldn't figure out why!

I remapped L3 to up on the dpad because I don't use it for anything else. I was having the same issue of constantly dismounting and crouching mid-combat.

It's longer range and the shot fires faster while dealing more damage. The point is you can nuke things from very far away. In the overworld this lets you one-shot (or close to it) individual enemies from a mile away which the rocks can't really do but for Radahn it just lets you get more distance from him while the summons distract him.

(Also there will come a point where you throw the meteorite staff into the trash and then the rocks get a lot worse)

Man, what a ride that was. Not sure if I have it in me to drop a big post that groups my thoughts together, but this was a GOOD GAME. I'm pretty much gamed out until BotW2.

Forgot to mention that I found the ants yesterday!

Today though...today I beat Margit! Then I got to explore Stormveil Castle with relative impunity and that was really fun. Then I beat Godrick first try (...with an NPC and a summon)!

I guess the real Elden Ring starts now?

Once again I googled a sidequest and found out I completely missed the aqueduct existing.

I beat Space Moose V2 and thought I was done. Silly me
