Someone who was previously employed, and has no current plans to return?

Doesnt have to be directly due to Covid, it could just be someone who has checked out of the workforce as part of the Great Resignation.

None I know personally. I know a lot of people who've gotten laid off but to my knowledge they plan to find new work (or already did).

Unless you count COVID deaths but I don't think that's what the topic is asking about.

My mom retired right before COVID hit.

I changed careers during COVID.

Think that's it.

Good friend/coworker left for health reasons, she got saddled with a long haul case. She's going into teaching, though, so good on her for finishing that program up.

Aunt ""retired"" from EMS (read: had a heart attack from covid complications) (and was on the estranged side of my family, but still.)

I haven't left yet, but it definitely pushed me to start changing my lifestyle and hopefully leave eventually.

My aunt Sue. Though she might return later if her family needs money.

She also has two grandchildren, so it was win-win.

I got laid off in March 2020 and declined to return for various reasons, especially when my previous employer lied about how the return to work would transpire which set off red flags for me that turned out to be true.

I am tentatively starting a remote position next month though.

my fiancee rage quit her job of five years, with no job lined up, due to four months of a new, unbearable manager and feeling undervalued in career progression

Not entirely left the workforce, but I've known a person or two who switched jobs because they didn't like how their job was handling whatever Covid issues. But they lined something else up before they quit.

yes, i guess you could say i've "retired" for now

my job was absolutely fine, but wasn't very fulfilling.

normally that's not a problem- i make my life about stuff outside of work. but none of those things were happening in 20 or 21. half the time when they were happening either it was annoying to coordinate enough time off, or i'd be exhausted from work and crap out early for the first day or so.

i'm sure i'll go back eventually, but i'm in no rush.

previously i was just kind of earning money compulsively with no end or goal in sight. for now, i'm content with what i have. when i decide i want to do something specific i'll have more motivation to get back in there. it would be amazing to have a passion or pet project be enough to pay the bills

You did indeed stab me in the back. However, you are only level one, whilst I am level 50. That means I should remain uninjured.
